I knew about the car long ago, but was not interested in it since it's little field of usability. However, I checked the car again, yesterday, when I saw it was second on the Top Gear times list. The car is pretty good actually. 0-100 in 2.8sec seems quite powerful. I'm thinking about getting one and use it as my other daily driver...And go for something less brutal than a Speciale for my wife's needs. What you guys think? Any suggestions for a daily driver sports car? F12 seems the choice. F12 + BAC mono. Oh Yeah ;D The BAC looks so sick.
I read about this vehicle in CAR Magazine out of England. Not sure where you are located, but don't think it is street legal in US. Plus, with paucity of bodywork, you are little safer than on a motorcycle. Even as a track day toy - its primary use - leaves you quite exposed. Literally. Car sounds like a hoot, but is it safe enough for you?Best
I know the guys at BAC and I drove one last year, they are a very focused drivers car, beautifully made and very fast. Of course you can't share the experience with anyone and it is pretty hardcore for the road. The engine is bolted to the chassis so plenty of vibration and as fast as it goes - the engine sound is not very exotic. Having said that - it's about as good as it gets on track and is incredibly well balanced - not intimidating and easy to handle on oversteer. I'd personally have it as a 3rd or 4th car!
Mine is inbound later this year. It has been over a year in the making...but a year in a lifetime of dreaming of being an F1 driver, it's a short wait & closest I'll personally get to being an F1 driver =) Registration in CA will also be a process, but 100% doable. It will be hard to DD even to the office imho, the trunk compartment up front can barely fit anything. Also if you live in a hilly city like I do, having to play with the clutch + flappy paddles will get tedious awfully fast. It's a track warrior / weekend toy not a dd imho.
That's the EXACT reason I want one! Closest you can get to a street legal F1 car...which IMHO is the most bad ass thing to drive on a public road... What would you suggest for a DD? two-seater, average performance, acceptable price.
Come on, Mods... There must be a way to stop that guy from starting more and more wanna-be threads... This is just a waste of time...
Wasn't the term "sick," used to describe something cool, commonly used by Paul Jr. on American chopper? It was weird because the people they'd encounter that had obviously watched the show before, you'd know they had watched the show before because they'd say..."Awe man that's SICK!" right in front of Paulie. You could kind've see him looking like..."Hey...that's my word." I still have that "I've watched this before..." feeling, but I am not a fan of the word "sick."
Sick has been used to describe something very cool since i was a kid at least. Early 90's or so. I dont believe pauly jr had anything to do with it. and coconut, you should just go into ferraris XX program, sounds right up your alley. and you could totally bring your FXX home and have a rebodied F1 car!
Ugh, don't want to be greedy! It's a weakness actually. Staying with the Speciale for now;( BAC will have to wait..
And your statement is validated by what knowledge of my relationship with BAC exactly? Your immediate jump to conclusion of me being a troll is quite ironic in that it adds precisely ZERO value to this forum. Be gone with you.
Sorry if you got me wrong... My post was related to the troll Coconut, not you. I apologize for not quoting his post - which I actually can't because he is on my ignore-list
Oh ha ha - sorry too buddy I thought it was a bit weird! I didn't realise you meant Coconut. Balance is restored! *shakes hands* : ) Is it known that Coconut is a troll? So he's just on here dreaming or likes to post rubbish? Thanks again!
I'll try to be more exact with my postings in the future Promise I really don't want to offend anyone here in the Forum - i'm here to have a good time and get in touch with other people also having fun with our italian masterpieces
