Eric, you just let me know when you're ready to sell your 348. I'm a buyer. :)

Your car is _outstanding_. I want it for my own collection...

Wow. As a viewpoint from across the pond, I can't believe how low your 348 prices seem to be. In the UK there seems to be a buoyant market with anything decent around or above £30,000 ($50,000). Any thing lower will be high mileage or need work.

The highest recent sold price was a private deal for a mint GTS with 14,000 miles at £38,000 ($62,000). The best 348GTC in the world has just come on the market at £99,990 ($160,000) although that is probably wishful thinking - time will tell but it is one of only 11 right hand drive cars.

We have the following website were most 348's are advertised - Used Ferrari 348 cars for sale with PistonHeads

Take a look - it might surprise you.

Gorgeous car, Eric. Does it have track history? 32 Challenges made, more 348's were raced, but not all were factory Challenge models. Not all factory Challenges were raced. This car, pending my personal high speed inspection ;) and a PPI is easily a $38K to $45K car. If it has podium points and some cool history, could definitely be at the upper end. Same if it never saw a track. Now, if you had a pair of Challenge seats to go with that, whew!

Never been tracked. True. They made 32 Challenge cars but only 13 were TS Challenge cars.

I put this one in the upper range. But then, I would have to spend some time flogging it, er checking it out... ;)

I completely agree with all of the above comments. I have a black on black 1990 348ts with a little under 30K on the odometer and only about 800 miles put on it since a major 30K mile service was completed. During that service the suggested items were done, but in addition to the belts, gaskets, "O" rings, seals, filters, etc. I also had the water pump and alternator replaced as well as replacing the cam belt tensioners. Repaired the wiring on the door harness cannon conector, removed the dash and replaced missing bulbs and checked all wiring, removed and repaired door panels and radio cover, refurbished the dash vents, R&R AC controller and check connections, R&R drivers seat and repair the hinge, replaced the left wiper arm, 348ts interior light, mirror switch, new battery, added four new tires, flushed and bled the brakes and clutch, replaced the distriutor support gasket, AC system charged, and had the emergency brake adjusted. The complete service was done by a highly respected professional independent shop in Dallas and the total was a little over $12K. The clutch was replaced approx. 2500 miles ago and the brakes are like new. There is a significant difference in the degree of service that is performed when someone mentions that the belts were recently done.

I have the original leather pouch, owners manual, tool kit, tire inflator, one fold over key, and significant service history since new. I would sell this great driving well sorted 348ts, but definately nowhere near the upper $20's to low $30's being discussed earlier in this thread.

Same here. I went nuts on my major and did all of those things you mentioned about yours. My car is worth way more to me than what I guess people would pay for it. I seriously doubt if I would even sell mine for less than 70k. Being what it is and how close to perfect I have got her.. Guess I better keep her!

There seems to be a huge price difference between cars that are for sale, and cars that aren't for sale.
I wish I had never had to sell a car.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances of my birth (lack of wealth), I've had to sell many fine cars for less than I thought they were worth so that I could proceed to the next one.
    :)

I have no dog in this hunt. I don't own a 348 anymore. I am the one who pushed Chad into buying copter's car aka "the bushmobile." He does not post so I will chime in. Most of you guys know my rep when it comes to 348's. Chad and I have been looking for a Ferrari for him for over a year. The Bushmobile was the best 348 for sale I have seen in the past couple of years. I took almost 20 hours out of my day to pick-up that car from Az. with Chad. It was that good. "Outlier"...I don't think so. Every 348 could be like the bushmobile with lots of hard work. There is nothing special about the bushmobile except everything works due to meticulous attention to detail. 7 years ago the major was done and it still has no leaks today. Why? Eugenio did the service is there any question? I would rather buy a car with Eugenio's expired service than any FNA dealer service done yesterday. When we got to Copter's and started the engine I was all smiles. You could smell how good that car ran as well as hear it. I literally drove around the block and came back deemed it perfect before Chad took a longer test drive. That is what good custodianship will do. I brought jacks, stands, halogen tester, stethoscope, vacuum gauge, smoke tester, compression, and leakdown tester and used absolutely none of it. Was my nose right? Yes it passed Cali smog the toughest in the nation with near zero on the emission scores. We will be yanking the motor to update the service due to belt age. We will still go through it from nose to tail but expect to find no surprises. Tasteful mods can add real value to these cars. The Bushmobile had one off Ronal wheels and full Stoptech brake kit. I race on Stoptech brakes they are amazing. I have spoke to copter a few times after the sale. I detect a little seller's remorse in his tone. I can only make sure that he has first crack at the bushmobile if it ever comes up for sale. He knows the car has gone to a good home and Chad knows he has a responsibility to be a good custodian for one of the best examples of a 348. So when shopping 348's it is condition condition condition.

I actually recommended the Bushmobile to a few people looking at my 348..

The 430c is a parts car. I'll build a Challenge-esque street legal(kinda) car out of the pieces. They don't come along very often so I had to buy it :) well that's what I told Melissa.

Sniff,sniff....wiping a tear from my eye. Ya there's a bit of seller's remorse but a lot more happiness in knowing that I helped pass the torch.

I'm still getting used to my spider, it truly is a different driving sensation. Not a bad one by any means just different from what I'm used to with the TB. That said, I'm loving every minute of it! I had a little mechanical challenge this week with it......cat ECU failure. Easy to diagnose and repair, a bit stiff on the pocket book but hey I'm grateful to be able to complain about it....a real first world problem LOL!

Truely! This is no doubt in my mind that the "coptermobile" will be every bit the "bushmobile" is. It is all in the owner.

With respect to factory Challenge cars, 32 were 348tb Challenge cars, while 13 348ts Challenge cars
