Found pictures of he nigel mansells old lexan window f40 with tan leather seats as specced by himself.i know it's not the correct interior that we are used to but does anyone else find this car in this spec amazing? I think it's so unique and in my personal favourite combination

This was tan from the factory? I love the tan option especially on the Enzo. Didn't he flip (sell) the car due to the premiums being paid for already delivered ones?

Yes I heard that it was up for sale at a massive premium as soon as he got it and Ferrari were none too pleased.

Ya that's apparently what he did alright. Was specced with tan seats from the factory from different sources online that I have seen talking about the car. I always wondered what a tan/red f40 would look like, I love the nomex seats in normal cars but I think this makes the car so unique looking,oh ya I also love the look of the early lexan window cars too so it's the best of both worlds in my opinion

Great car. Didn't he also try to sue the owner he sold it to when he sold it on at a profit.

I can't make a judgement call on the interior based upon the quality of the pictures. It could be yay or nay, but I'd need to see it in person or at better quality images to make a judgement call.

Philip, he did not spec F40 80022, it came to him as a result of his affiliation with Ferrari SpA, and was supplied like any other F40 with red nomex seats.

The red nomex seats were replaced with tan leather seat covers sometime in the 1990s.

Interesting original ownership, I think Nigel should buy it back.

It baffles me how hundreds of thousands of dollars can be spent on a car by so many multiple owners without any of the aforementioned even bothering to carry out the simple & relatively inexpensive rectification process of re-covering the seats in the original red Nomex. The seats were recovered early in the car's life, and each time the car comes up for sale, lets just say the seats are looking the worse for wear.

I recall a previous seller attempting to convince the general public that the post-production leather seat-covers were factory application!

I love the auction description: "...the car passed through the hands of a select group of anonymous collectors"

    Priceless!!

In other words: this F40 has had many owners, and there isn't enough space here to list them all.

Still, cool car which needs a sympathetic new owner to turn back the clock.

I remember few years ago when we were participating with the Cavalino rosso club with Marcel, the owner at this time of this "famous" car, we were used to put our two F40 together in several places for show, I still have some pics, but I can also confirm that the leather is not at all nice and in fact looks "old" such as an old sofa! Genuine seats are much better.
