I see California tags but that looks like Florida to me. Very cool cars.

Howdy Sherpa. Sorry to hear about your F-40 mishap. Hopefully you'll get her back better than before.

I'm originally from FL. I split my time between Vegas/TX/ FL these days.

My business base is in CA that's why I still keep my ///M5 as an "original CA" car.

Come to think about it I have cars registered in 5 different states and my boat in GA.

Don't ask.... My goal is to have a car registered in all 50 states. j/k lol

When it warms up in H-town I'll meet you for cars & coffee and you can take it for a spin.

I keep quite a few of my cars in TX from spring to fall with at least one E28 ///M5 with me at all times. I would use them as DD's but as everything I own somehow ends up as a "collector" car so I use them as minimal as I can without turning them into garage queens.

During last years Lambo festival in Houston I messed around with my E28 ///M5 rims and put them on my Countach for a day while the Gotti's on my Countach were getting polished.

I needed the Countach to be a roller due to the limited space at the shop and though to myself hum...... The Countach has ATE calipers that are dead on to the E28. I wonder if the wheels would fit? They did and didn't look all that bad. For a day I had an E28 Countach. lol

Love the M5, always had a soft spot for those and the Alpina B9.

The F40 is almost done. It's way better than before. The new body I got from Maranello is so much better, lighter, and nicer and the old one and my restoration shop has it so dialed in that the gaps are all a consistent 5.5 mm. Try that on any other F40. It should be painted here shortly and finished here in the next 8 weeks or so.

I do have to say that Ferrari has done a great job updating the F40 parts. The old bodies are getting so brittle and they've fixed that with the new bodies. I wouldn't go so far as to call it a blessing in disguise but I certainly have a way, way better car than I started with.

dreading the day when my 2 extra years of warranty are up this coming Summer. Going to have to let the car go, because it has seriously been a lemon, and I don't dare keep it a day after warranty is up, because it will explode I'm sure. Shame, because I really like bmw and I want to stay with the brand for my next car, but they sure do shoddy work. So many lawsuits over parts failing, etc. Just a time bomb waiting to go off :(

Saving myself some research I assume your 135i has all that VANOS/Valtronic etc etc stuff? If so, by no means am I hounding, someone told me I should consider myself lucky in that I acquired one of the last truly great and problem free engine/trans combinations, just dumb luck on my part. Sorry to hear about your less than good experience.

Yes, my 135 has been less than stellar. Three weeks after laying down $2800 for 2 years extended warranty, the high pressure fuel pump problem came up, among others, which totaled just over $6k in repairs. A month later, the fuel injectors went, a month later, the other side fuel injectors died, then the fuel pump yet again. I think that car saw the dealer every second month during the Summer. Two days after I bought the damn thing it overheated, needing a new water pump and some electrical failures with the rear lights. I want to like bmw, but it's just so hard

Edit: And this is my first bmw, too. Good first impression

Man that sucks. I am by no means a "talk bad about BMW and I will cut you" fan and I realize they can become rather tiresome and expensive to maintain yet then again some BMW's are as reliable as the day is long. I guess only time will tell.

Hoping and praying for a E34 M5 some day or maybe I can get triple-x drunk enough and get a trade written on a stained and crumpled bar napkin!?!?!?!

Nice E28. That's a fun car and I miss mine.

I bought one wth my dad a few years ago as a fun car to work on and I learned a lot about the mechanics of a car. It was something we enjoyed a lot and tinkered with when we had time.

It was truly an old car that need more time/money than we wanted to put into it but I loved every second of having it in the garage

It made a fantastic sound that can't be matched by any modern BMW. I can still hear it.

I hope to have another in the future since it really was a fun car and the e28 M5 will always have special meaning to me.

BMWs are very fun to drive especially the ///M and sport package models. Glad to see there are other BMW nuts like myself

So BMW has officially launched the 2-series Active Tourer with FWD! :( There is no consistency anymore... Sigh.

I am considering trading in the E30 convertible + the CRX for an M3 E36 (4 door) with a lot of nice parts, track ready setup that a friend is considering to sell.

Anyone have or have had M3 E36? TBH of all the M cars this is the model I have overlooked the most. Like the coupe far more though.

Loved my e36 M3, traded it for an e46 M3 convertible which was a great car, but I did (and still do) miss the e36 :)

SOOOOOO many people say this in America.

Some people I know, who have owned every variant of the M3, swear by the E36. And this is with the US spec engine..... I have posted this before, and I will get a full photo shoot when the east coast stops snowing every other day......

Wow, that's high praise. Been googling on E36 vs E46 M3 (I'm not considering the E46, because I'm not feeling anything for it - a CSL would be different of course...) - just out of curiosity. Most owners, about 3/4 of them, seem to prefer the more raw feel of the E36 (maybe a bit like the 911 964 vs 993 debate, or even 993 vs 996).

I think I'm going to say yes. He has not made an ad yet, and I have not seen it in person. Will try to check it out this week and if I like it, put out the E30 for sale.
