Good. Dealer are recognizing that low mileage GTBs are undervalued.

Ron Tonkin has a 98 with 8400 for $78k, Black Hourse has a 95 with 14000 for $75k. Both been around for a while. Others out there too that are not moving. If Marshall Godman bought the one from FLI youi know it was at wholesale.

Yep. The market just does not support prices north of $70K..

Per Marshall Goldman, the owner of the dealership purchased it for his personal collection....price well north of 6 figures. Doesn't sound like it is going to be on the market again anytime soon. One would have to treat this like a museum piece and display it, otherwise it wouldn't take very many miles to incur some serious depreciation.

I seriously doubt someone paid well north of 6 figures. Unfortunately there really are no time capsules for 355s because the interior will deteriorate fast whether it's driven or not.
Eventually these will be north of 100 by a lot and then a super low miles car will be in high demand. Just not quite there yet.

This is the portion of the market data that we simply just do not have...there are sales that happen outside the public eye in terms of what the asking price was, and it is hard to get exact confirmation of actual selling prices. Not sure that Marshall Goldman would lie about a car that was bought for the owner of their dealership...but may be hard to ever know. If someone was looking to buy this car to drive it seems unfathomable to pay this kind of price as there might be a fair amount of cost to get a museum piece on the road again, and then after a handful of miles it becomes no longer unique. On the other hand if someone wants a museum piece with this kind of mileage these seldom pop up.

You are correct, nobody may ever know what he actually paid.
But he is in the business of selling cars and creating value. So of course he would lie and say he paid more for the car than he did. Just like every other car dealer in the world. You don't make a market by saying you paid wholesale prices for a car. You lie and say you way overpaid but the car is very special, so when he sells it at 85 he can get out the tissues and cry over all the money he is losing as you are deciding to buy it or not.
