Would a 355 with fabspeed exhaust, tubi, challenge ECU, straight pipes no cats, new engine devalue the car over time or would a stock version be a better choice given similar mileage and price.

A new engine with non-matching VIN may lower the value but the rest should not unless you are trying to sell to someone that wants a pure museum piece..

Assuming that the OP is talking about the Black Horse car, it doesn't have a new engine AFIK, just a rebuild.

I wasn't aware 355s had vins on the engine, or a match was necessary.

Numeros don't match on modern Ferraris.

But the engine number is matched to the vin. Owners manual will have both vin and engine number recorded.

Looks fine, especially if you plan on driving it. If you plan on keeping it shiny in the garage for a future owner, maybe not so much.

55K for an early, motor sorted (according to ad) 355 with a 6 spd! Yes please. No worries about top wear, nor top motor, nor F1 pump.

Cool car, nice color, seems clean inside too. Too bad with the ECU changed to challenge version, and with straight pipes, it will never pass CA smog. Rules me out.

A couple of obvious issues. Not necessarily big deals. Drives side fog light is hazed. AC control panel if bubbled. passenger side air bag cover corners are curled. Worse on right side.

FWIW that car has been for sale for 6-9 months.

I think it was originally listed north of $70K too
