Indeed...Soon it will be ALL GONE:) The original factory color change (done prior to delivery to first owner) will at last be PROPERLY executed.

The headers are the original factory headers. (supplied by Ansa) They have been refurbished and coated with an original looking, but far more durable ceramic coating.

They did not clear coat them either?
I have seen that been done when carbs are restored.

I see a loosened RH gas tank.
Do you intend to pressure test both tanks for leaks?
I know I would, if it was my car. Just as a precaution.

Both thanks will be removed and refurbished as necessary. New fuel hoses, pumps, filters, and gaskets will be installed at that time. It is necessary to remove the fuel tanks to properly re-attach the flares.

Beautiful work on the gauges! where did you have those done at? My speedometer needle also has that nice banana effect to it as well. :)

Mike, "banana needles" are common to most Countachs with Jaeger gauges. I sent these instruments to Palo Alto Speedometer for refurbishment and service. MAJOR transformation.
I was going to ask: Where do you get the LED lights for the instruments?

Great progress. This will certainly come out nice given your attention to detail on it.

    Wow those needles are nice!

Your "bananas" weren't too bad. Mine are about the same I've seen much worse. I think ALL CT's have had banana needles at some point over the last 30 years.

Did you have the smaller needles replaced or repainted?

I had no idea that there was a sticker that reads "unleaded gasoline only" in that area.

    Did all 5000s have that?

If that's original please take an up close picture and take measurements with a caliper so I can have my friend make you a brand new one.

I'll have a few made just to have them. I'm also having the Vitaloni decals replicated.

By the way Michael did you get my PM about the LED's? I have a few left over from my project that I would like you to have to see if you like them. Just make sure you have the correct ones.

The only three LED's I would leave alone or replace with original bulbs is the reserve gas light the turn signal light & the low beam green light. The LED bulb is way too bright for the turn signal & low beam green lens, it WILL drive you nuts.

Please PM me to let me know if you got the mailing address you requested from me for 3 weeks ago.

I'll probably be off for a few days headed off to running of the bulls in the AM.
