I've seen that pic a lot over the years, most recently on theCHIVE, so it's nice to get the backstory. Hope you get that VIN, Carbon!

    Cheers,

The best part of those pics is that they show how strong the roof structure is.

I didn't wake up until 4:30 today, so calling Arkansas was out; I'll try to get up earlier tomorrow.

    here is the joke backstory..

    My darling husband,
Before you return from your business trip, I just want to let you know about the small accident I had with the pick up truck when I turned into the driveway. Fortunately it's not too bad and I really didn't get hurt, so please don't worry too much about me. I was coming home from WalMart, and when I turned into the driveway I accidentally pushed down on the accelerator instead of the brake. The garage door is slightly bent but fortunately the pick up came to a halt when it bumped into your car. I am really sorry, but I know with your kind hearted personality you will forgive me. You know how much I love you and care for you my sweetheart. I am enclosing a picture of the damage for you. I cannot wait to hold you in my arms again.
    Your loving wife.

Carbon, I could have swore that the owner of that car (and accident) made a post on FCHAT a few years back to respond to the outrageous pic.

IIRC a friend of his told him to post his explanation on FCHAT, and he did explain something like he was driving the 360 around his street and took a fast turn right into the garage, slamming through the door and under the F150.

..Someone else remember that, or am I totally wrong?

If you google the story or look at some of the links above the kid driving the PU lost control of the truck and and drove into the garage , etc.

Carb spoke with the fact owner and he could elaborate maybe.

Hey Carbon... need me to take a road trip to the scene of the crime? Or the DMV? There has to be some advantage of living in Arkansas and the missile silo project could use an extra $50. :)

The kid driving the pickup decided to look at his cell phone and then, somehow, accelerated through the residential neighborhood, somehow crashing into the garage and landing on top of the 360. The then-owner of the 360, Steve Marts, no longer owners the car nor does he know anything about its whereabouts after they parted ways.

I seem to have lost traction with the Fort Smith, AR, Department of Public Records. They didn't keep files on .pdf back in 2005 like they do now, so they purge old records to make room for new stuff. I could use all the help I can get - if you can get me that VIN, you've got $50 toward the silo.
