Indeed. A glance at TZ 750's own profile suggests that he himself subscibes to this view!

Thank you for the more pleasantly
    worded response Steven.

I have been a "professional" in the art world since
1972, so I have a feeling for your Rothko discussion.

I can certainly understand a need for - and a
desire for - some measure of privacy.

    I value that for myself.

My assumption was the "owner" might like credit for the HUGE
effort he has made to bring this car - and this display - to us.

Showing the car and transporter in public indicated some
willingness to be open to public acclaim and recognition.

An easy solution to the "privacy" question is to
invite "a friend" - like Rob Lay - to just post that:

The owner wishes to remain anonymous.

    How hard is that ?

Can I assume that when I show my collection (In public)
of more than 30 vintage racing machines - including
my 3 Ferrari cars - that I should be
insulted if someone asks my name ?

I'm just asking, and I am only asking here, among friends.

I'm not asking friends in Paris to "hunt the guy down,"
I'm not doing a huge GOOGLE search,
    I'm not "snooping around" Talacrest.

    I'm just askin.......

My video collection includes "Passion for Speed," and
it would seem that Nick Mason has no such feelings
    for privacy

I respect that. Is it safe to assume that its in the hands of an end user and not a reseller?

    Thanks for pointing out my
    "deficit posting" John.

I did a "quick click" on your profile,
and see that we both own 575M's,
and that we value information from TAZ.

If you did a quick Google for
    SCOTT GUTHRIE MOTORCYCLE, you
    would find:

    and

    Guthrie Swings ?The Hammer?

Then you can't be all bad.

My question is asked out of simple curiosity. I have opinions but no dog in this fight.

Owners have every right to anonymity but if its up for sale why not say so?

If it's found a home it's all to the good as well.

    David:

You make the point quite well,
and I am willing to stop asking
    "the question" now that you
    have summerized it.

I feel that I have made my REASONS
for asking quite clear, and that if the
owner does NOT want to be known,
    that's fine !

So, until he posts on FChat, let's
    drop the discussion, with no
    "Speculation, etc."

    Cheers, Scott

I am pretty sure that the owner did not want "....to bring this car -and this display- to us...!"
This display had been organised by the dealer/restorer Mario Linke in partnership with dealer Franco Meiners. Thats all.

    Nothing less....but nothing more!

Admire the car and be happy that you saw it. And thats it. If you want to kiss someones hands, go to Las Vegas or meet the Pope.....::))

Interesting that the Owner of $20,000,000
worth of"stuff" had no say in the matter.........

    Anyone likes this.

Thank you Walter, but I am not so much into "kissing hands,"
unless of course you were Sofia Loren.

I enjoy conversations with those I admire
    and respect, of whatever status.

I have stood and chatted with the fastest
    automobile drivers in the world,
and I am HARD to impress.

    Thanks for this tip:
