I'm really sick of winter. Though my car is stored away and I can't easily get to it, I can still dream of summer by working on car projects.

I've had the parts sitting around for months so I decide to finally build my window accelerators. As related in other treads, often slow moving windows are due to poor grounds. So, build a box that will automatically connect a better ground depending on the direction of the voltage to the motor. A couple of relays, a couple of diodes, some over priced hammond project boxes and away you go.

Boxes are approx. 2" X 4" X 0.875". Almost done but still need to seal things up with liquid tape and take care of a few other details. I did cheat and let someone with more talent for soldering finish them off. I will need to wait until at least April to see if they work.

Very nice! I just used the regular relays. That looks good.

Before you install, I would put a little silicone sealant around the edges to keep moisture out.

Do you have a wiring diagram?

This is what I did. Like everything else on the net, check it and be sure it is correct before using. I was half asleep when I drew this.

308s have been fighting the slow windows issue for years. Lots of threads in their section. The consensus is: scrape out the old grease from the window gears and if that's not enough, use a relay setup like above. There's also several relay "kits" you can buy.

You can buy a box already assembled that does the same thing. They are reasonably priced, so if you don't feel like making one, that's a good way to go.
