One step at a time! Porsche NA just got back into the autoshow so let's be happy they are back. Also, let's not forget that these cars get destroyed at auto shows. Not everyone shows the same care car guys do. I've done some work with Ford and Lincoln so I couldn't imagine what some of the premium brands endure during the shows.

Not really true... I was talking in depth about the new Maserati Ghibli with the "temp" and he mentioned that himself, and the FOO sales guy already sold 8 new Ghibli's at the show last week. I'm sure they are getting some kind of compensation.

Also talking with the Mercedes dealer and he also said he sold 10 new C-Series within the last few days. Also that new 2014 C-series deliveries are already behind until May of this year.. just because of the huge sales done at the Toronto show

In a nutcase that's the reasoning. They do have tests for the temps to ensure they know product as well. We actually worked with the jaguar booth so maybe I could forward the complaint from ClydeM

By law, correct me if I'm wrong Vasco, omvic is pretty strict on sales/bill of sales being signed at the location of the registered dealer implying that they can't sell the vehicle at the show.

Ill take a look at that thoughj as I'm sitting on my blackbeery out of town.

Yes I also would enjoy the more technical aspects of the cars at the show but its just not possible with the crowds there in any case, and the temps as opposed to more knowledgable salespeople. Having said that, I was just happy to see the nice selection of exotica present, which has not always been the case in the past

I thought the various dealers for each brand who participate alternate their salespeople at the show over the course of the 10 days of the show, but perhaps I'm wrong, because there did seem to be more temps this year

This may be true for some but I know a handful that hire students to do the jobs. I was working on the infiniti booth and saw a group of rather attractive female students learning about the smart car line up. Georgian has typically been a place for a few manufacturers as well such as ford and nissan if I remember correctly.

That's interesting it makes the show sounds like more of a rip off then, but overall I still enjoyed it

I attended the International Autoshow in Detroit this year. Parking was not free. There was no on site parking available so I was forced to park blocks away and walk to the venue, whereas I was able to park in the convention centre in Toronto. Furthermore, Ferrari, Maserati Lamborghini and Mclaren were not there, unlike in Toronto where they were all represented. Parking costs a lot in Toronto. However, when you step outside the convention centre you are in the heart of a vibrant city, not surrounded by derelict and abandonded buildings as you are in Detroit. All in all, Toronto was a far superior show notwithstanding the extra few bucks it costs to park.
