I'm going to say Kimi will place 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in both the race and quali.
Ferrari top two podium spots! But, who will be on top, Kimi? Alonso? Massa can have 3rd, then......those other drivers out there..........
I foresee many teething pains. Impossible to call, IMO. Our local FCA has rented a great venue to watch the race with twin 70" TV's. Can't. hardly. wait. Cheers, Geo
I bet we see at least 6 DNFs, with at least 2 of them due to fire. This stuff is all so new, the software and hardware have issues and the packaging is so critical. I kind of feel sorry for some of these teams who are great go cart designers and now they are being thrust into areas of technology not usually seen in racing. I say it will take all of this year for the teams to wrap their heads around all the changes and become Masters of their trades again.
They'll get there, but yeah, this is a whole new can of worms for all of them. I'm going further than 6 DNFs though - I'm gonna say at least half the field doesn't reach the flag..... And of those, many will have had a few unscheduled stops too. How many will catch fire? Maybe a handful..... Anyone know what temps are expected? If it's toasty, it could be carnage! Love it! Someone predicted Chilton on the podium (!) I believe - he's so slow but has (to date) always finished, so maybe not that ridiculous! Cheers, Ian
Nice overview of the testing and where teams stand with the upcoming first race from SKY F1. What we've learnt at Bahrain Test Two | Features & Experts | Sky Sports Formula 1
I´ll be happy if someone finishes the race. No, edit: I´ll be happy if someone manages to start the race.
I'm intrigued. From testing, it's hard to imagine more than 1/2 a dozen cars finishing...but we're dealing with geniuses here, and I tend not to underestimate geniuses. But picking a winner? I wouldn't have a clue.
If Massa can hold onto the speed he has shown in testing (referencing links provided) I would love to see Williams return to a championship or race winning team.
