    Hi Jasu,

Yup, you are right. It is the self centering force that reduces to about zero anywhere between 30 and 50MPH and gives a feeling like the steering is not assisted.

thx for the correction and regards,

    Bart

    Khamsinisti,

It feels like spring time here in the Netherlands. When I woke up the sun was already trying to come thru. I decided to take the Khamsin out for a pre-breakfast run.

Started he V8 and the rumble in our garage an echoing between the walls sent nice vibrations in the area. The roads were dry and empty, exactly how you want them on a drive like this. The scenery was just beautiful with the nature already getting some colors!

Upon arrival back home my daughter, who was over from Norway for some days, stormed outside and was unhappy that I did not take her with me! So what do you do as a father?
Right, make another run but this time being driven.

She enjoyed the run but after parking the car in the garage she said that she prefers the Ghibli SS. The Khamsin is just a little too sporty for her. So next time we take out the 2 cars. Life is a drag....

    Saluti,

    Bart

    Wonderful Bart!

Thank you for sharing and reminding all that these cars are for driving: while some have problems to solve too many are forever tinkering on their Khamsins (and other models) and not driving enough or at all, forgetting that a car that does not get driven actually deteriorates and that therefore driving at least a little bit each month -winter weather permitting- is actually active maintenance so well done for demonstrating the right spirit!

With an enthusiastic daughter and fine young lady like that with access to your cars I think you will have no shortage of potential son in laws...pity that I am too old for her;-)

    Bedankt for the report!

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hello all,

Here is a nice shot form the salon de l'Automobile in Paris 1976 which member Giotto found and kindly sent me.

It shows AM120132 in what appears to be oro kelso with tan interior. It was delivered new by Thepenier on 12 August 1975.
I drove this car in 2010 and posted photos at the time here, unfortunately it has been red for decades, hopefully it will like many others be put back to original color.

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Khamsinisti,

After a very mild winter now springtime has arrived in the Netherlands.
With temperatures reaching 20 degrees C (68 degrees F) 2 week ends ago I had to take the roof panels out and enjoy the sun!

    This asks for more!

    Saluti,

    Hello Tom,

Nice to know that 178 found a home and is being restored, welcome. That is obviously a trim piece, probably but not certainly from the trunk area but its shape does not ring a bell. I am not at all workshop minded but I did do three bumper conversions which necessitate taking the trunk trim apart to some extent yet I do not recognize that piece...and there should be a pair...sorry I hope someone can chime in with the answer.

    All the best,

    Marc

    Tom,
I believe it fits under the dashboard (glove box side), adjacent to the center tunnel and is used to cover the expansion valve and associated plumbing for the a/c. The small tube I believe is used to funnel condensate to a hole in the side of the center tunnel and out from the car.

Yes, indeed! I never would have found it myself. Thanks for the help with the "mystery panel". I will post some pics of 178 soon,

    Hello AMLC!

Bedankt for the photos, you car always looks great one of not so many smooth nose cars around.

the white car in Essen in not Matteo Panini's but Alberto C.'s AM120270, sold new in Lucca Tuscany and of the three Khamsins around Modena it is the only one regularly driven, in fact it took part in KHAMSIN QUARANTA in June 2012 in Burgundy.

    Best regards,

    Marc

Nice shot AMLC, the colour of your car is so nice.

Took my car out for the first real blast since the winter slumber yesterday. Sun was shining, and the car sounded loud, perfect cocktail.

Looking forward to some miles this year.

Hey Marc, hope you're doing ok, not heard much from you lately.....

Jack, sorry I promised you the rolling road outputs, I will get back on track and get those scanned in and uploaded.

    Goedendag AMLC,

Closed nose, integrated head rests tan interior, Blu Celeste: My favourite Khamsin combo!
Would like to see the car one day for real!

Did not go to Essen this year despite a shopping list; the weather was just to good: Spent time on our 1903 13 ton sailing boat in Friesland.
Life is all about choices and priorities...:)

    Hopelijk tot ziens,

    Bart
