Hi, I was think about fitting the Scuderia stripe on a F355 Berlinetta - does anyone have a picture of this previously done? The car is Le Mans Blue and i think the 2 band stripe would look great in silver with the black edging. Would love to see a picture if anyone has ever tried it before. thanks Mark
this may give you some ideal of what it might look like Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think if you are going to do it, it really needs a more aggressive front end which the spoiler gives. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's tacky in my opinion. Did a Scuderia F355 even exist? Isn't that reserved for F430s? This is the equivalent of a normal 360 throwing CS badges/decals on it...i.e. "italian rice".
I think this car is a F385 . It has the Toda engine with bigger displacement. I don't think putting stripes on a car is the same as rebadging the car. Comes down to personal taste and if you think a Ferrari should be modified which I think it is great to do.
Weird, looks like some Japanese creation: F385 SCUDERIA FERRARI?Blog?fu355?Minkara - The Car & Automobile SNS (Blog - Parts - Maintenance - Mileage) Either way, why would they throw Scuderia on the badge? I can't read Japanese and can't imagine they worked closely with Ferrari on this "F385" to earn a Scuderia name.
I don't know about Scud stripes, but check out the NYC Tributo stripes. I thought they looked great! Tribute to Ferrari NYC 2013 - YouTube Image Unavailable, Please Login
- cool everyone is entitled to an opinion, its a free world, what ever floats your boat, personally i like it - but i am sure it will send a shiver up many. ehhh No, i think we all know that. ehhh No - it your car do what you like with it. - there are no badges declaring it as something its not, its purely a styling exercise. I think there is enough of a timeline / DNA difference between a 430 Suderia and a F355 Berlinetta that no one should think its dressed up to be something its not. Its certainly not something i would do to my 275GTB, but i feel more comfortable exploring different options on my 355. If i get tired of it, or i wake up one morning not liking it - 5 minutes with a hair dryer returns the world to normal. cheers Mark
Personally, I'm with you, it's your car. I think a well designed strip looks awesome! Just because it was installed on a factory car doesn't mean you can't do the same. No many how radical I make my 348, it will never look like a 430 Scuderia!
It's gone now, but I'm going to put a gold speciale double stripe on it next. May also put a 348 Speciale badge on the back as well to annoy the purist
I think I remember you asking about the SS badge on here before. Most would never know the difference. It's your car, do what you want!! The stripes are the same, it's a personal thing! Anyone that wants to do so, should, IMO. I've not seen any distasteful modification on this site anyway. I love my 360 wheels, fender badges, red push start button and many other tastefully installed mods to MY 348! I'm contemplating a stripe! My little brother does them and he's pretty good at it!
If you want to experiment with stripes etc you can play with shelf paper from the hardware store. It comes with a non marring adhesive sort of like Post it Notes, so you can stick it on and pull it off. Make sure it is smooth surface, not textured, and you can paint the paper with a rattle can (off the car...) and see how you like it.
Ok...then you will enjoy the darker stripes that are now created as the paint will become unevenly faded. I'm sure a lot of people on this forum would balk if you threw chrome 20's on your 355...but for some reason ricy race stripes are ok? Dafuq....
Ha! I didn't see you posted that. I had a look at the link and the 385 is one FAST car! It did the full Suzuka circuit in 2:26:76. To give you an idea of how fast that thing is, a Porsche Carrera GT did it in 2:28:42, and a Nissan GTR did it in 2:27:782, F50 did it in 2:26:52. That 385 can MOVE! It puts down 436ps. Looking at the TODA website it's still on the standard cams based on their specs. Very impressive.
Cheers Dafuq, what a brilliant idea, that would be awesome! I was actually think more along the lines of some chrome spinners, slam it to the deck and add a pretty row off neon under-lighters to the edge of the sills... To be honest after 4 years of painstaking restoration of my 275GTB, and all the research and searching that goes with Classiche and authenticity, I am actually enjoying messing around with my 355, without anyone jumping on my case every time I fitted the wrong type of screw, or wrong colour of anodised nut, or the wrong shade of grey paint on the fuel filter etc etc etc: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/vintage-thru-365-gtc4-sponsored-vintage-driving-machines/280041-restoration-starts-here-275gtb-shortnose-07333-a.html If the paint fades, which is very unlikely - just paint it! Use the cars, enjoy the cars. think these are only 19" but must be able get them in 20's Image Unavailable, Please Login
I tried it with my old 355. Made out of vinyl and easily taken off. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I love a stripe on a car, so very historic in sports cars Want to do one on mine but cant think of anything that gets me going
