Hello all I have a TCU that was reflashed with the CS program. It was done by a fellow Fchat member and he had done many sucessfully. It is an exact copy of a 196986 TCU. I have used this and it functions perfectly. All features are present, such as adjustable PIS, and if wanted, LC. The downshifts are truly a treat using this easy mod. I will include easy instructions that were supplied to me. Most people can install this item in less than 10 minutes.
I am selling way below my cost at 1000, shipped to the CON US.

    Thank you

    Rich

The price is 1000 usd. That includes shipping in the Con US.

Please note, whoever asked if it is plug and play, in a sense yes. Meaning, after following the swap instructions, I assure you it will work nice. I do however think that setting the PIS with new TCU installed would be a good idea. The install can be done in minutes. Literally.

After switching off the battery, you remove the electrical cover behind the passenger seat with 5 allen keys. Then you remove 2 8mm nuts that hold the TCU in place, and remove it from the bracket.,Carefully remove the plug, and put the original TCU aside. Then connect the plug to the new TCU, and secure it into the same bracket. Put the cover in place, and turn the battery back on. There are a few more steps to follow ( a sequence of commands using the key on/off, run the gears up and back down with the key on, but engine off, turn the key off. Wait a minute, and go thru the normal start procedure and its done. I will send the original instructions that i received with it.

I have used it in a car, and never followed my own advice of setting the PIS. I had no problem, but I was told this should be done.

    Thank you

    Rich

You will need to bring the car to a mechanic with a SD3 reader. Have the original TCU read and save the settings, then install the new TCU and reprogram the saved settings. The PIS is important to have adjusted.

Eric355 reflashes the TCU with a copy of the EEPROM contents from a friend's CS. Because it has that complete EEPROM copy, the TCU already has a workable PIS in the system. Once swapped, the 360 can be driven as is, although it is advisable to have a tech optimize the PIS setting. If TCU history is a concern, then a tech needs to make the swap after saving the current TCU's data.

Installing an OEM TCU is a much more comlicated process than one of Eric's, which is essentially plug in and drive off. From Eddie, now in the UK, I believe, on how to do it with a new OEM CS TCU.

If he has a 2003 or later, probably not that much difference. Earlier, big difference.

I've heard you say that before.
So in my 2004 360 Spyder, the CS TCU would be a waste of time, correct?
I know it already has settable PIS.

While it does downshifts... OK, they are not smooth as they could be.
    Better in Sport mode thou.

To clear things up, this did start as the correct CS hardware. CFC231F, as visible on the left corner of the sticker ( Yes it is dirty) then it was flashed with the CS software. The original hardware for a 360 is CFC201, and there is huge difference with an early ( 1999-2002) 360. The later ones it is not as stark a difference, but it is still an upgrade.

This unit is plug and play.

    Thank you

Don- For $1000, it is worth the update. For $4000, probably not.

Rich- Yup, same hardware. Also used in other Ferrari models (575M), and some Maseratis.

I'm wondering if I should do this to my Maser Gransport...I love the shifting in my CS but really hate it in the maser...anyone ever done this and described the results?

Not that I have heard about. Same hardware, but no idea if the software would match up with whatever they are using for Motronic DMEs. Cannot hurt anything to try. It will either work or not.

Taz...so say for a 2004 model its not that significant a difference in shift characteristics?

Addict- It is a slight improvement. Like I said, for $1K, worth the money, for $3-4K, probably not. Moot point since she is sold.

Addict- I have heard that before from shops, but they have been unable to come through when push comes to shove. The early cars are not set up for reflashing through the OBDII port like the later Ferraris, and I find it difficult to believe Ferrari gave a dealer the program contents.

Keep us informed. They may have a copy of somebody's EEPROM like Eric does.
