Yep! I saw some wonderful photos that friends had taken. Very nice display of GT road cars, and racing Maserati: 250F 250S, 300S and the 450S, Tipo 61 etc. A fantastic gathering of all cars.

Also, there is a nice thread on the Maserati section of F-chat.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/maserati/440249-maseratis-amelia-island-2014-a.html

Ever consider adding Maserati to your garage?

    Ciao and best!

I have and keep an eye out.

I was hoping our new one would be a Maserati but that wasn't to be. I am very happy with the manufacture we will be working with. I'm coming to understand how Enzo felt when he raced Alfa with a car that bore his name.

Ferrari did NOT make the quoted statement about the frame and uprights.

Pete, I had read that post. Please see Jim's post #6656 and my response #6657. The content of Umberto Masoni of Ferrari Classiche's letter dated 29th September, 2004 to Jim supersedes this and invalidates it. Besides, you summed up the web site thing perfectly:

Steve, I am going to ignore you from now on as you are deliberately changing the context of conversation s. Yes I did say that about Internet sites but then I read Jims post and learnt that the garage site requires authentication to get your car in it, therefore it is not a typical site.
You cant have an intelligent debate or discussion if you do this and I had subsequently stated that about the site but you are again being silly. Why you so bent out of shape I dont know. I instead am glad that a real car guy has money and shares his hobby.

How could the garage site at time of writing, Ferrari or anyone authenticate 0846 without having undertaken a physical inspection of the chassis/car? Complete investigation? NOPE!!!. They were so scrupulous they posted a picture of P4 Berlinetta 0856 for the only P3/4 Spyder, 0846. :)

Where do you think the frame came from?

Some kid building a Go-Kart who kinda liked P3's and kinda liked P4's so he took it from there and welded it up? Then lost interest and tossed it in an Italian Junkyard?

Napolis has said a million times that it is what it is and isn't what it isn't? I think most of us feel that he has thrown as much of what he knows out there for us to see and has been as transparent as he possibly can be.

I understand you want to ask your questions but come on man?

This car was that close to cease from existing and all was done that could be done to keep it alive and return it as close to its former glory as was possible.

    This effort should be applauded.

It is the exact opposite of what happened to another car that we are all familiar with.

I understand your curiosity for the facts but? Here's a car that was saved and not destroyed.

If it's the wrong picture on the website it's the wrong picture. Let's just be happy that this piece of history made it unlike others that have perished in the hands of less caring owners...

If you don't think it's the real deal then don't have your great, great grand kids bid on it in 400 years when it comes up for sale.

I'm pretty sure most of us are convinced that it is as close to the real deal as one man could do.

For laughs.... Lets say Ferrari never commented on it being the real deal or not. With all the evidence that is burning in front of your face would you say that it is not the frame from 0846???

VV. I am not saying Jim's car is not 0846. I have just asked where have Ferrari confirmed in writing that Jim Glickenhaus has resurrected 0846 on its original chassis as he has stated. If it is 0846 and Ferrari have written that Jim resurrected it, the statement would be erroneous anyway, as Jim was not the one who resurrected it.

The car is absolutely fantastic whether it is actually 0846, or 0003.

Well they haven't sued him to stop him from claiming that it is what it is, have they?

The car has been able to travel to and from Italy without being seized and crushed by Italian authorities like several others, right?

Really I think you continue to focus on some things that are such a non-issues that you leave yourself looking completely out of touch with what really matters.

again your inability to read the facts is beyond amazing. As that post of Jim's said they did a lot of research and asked for extra photos, etc.

That is it for me. Black is white for some ... Oh and Jim and his team made the connection that 0003 is actually built on #0846's chassis.

Face it you have personal issues with Jim ... fair enough, but leave this alone.

I agree on the ignore part, debating is all fair and well when there is something to actually debate, however to continually ask the same question in around about ways, combine this with the 0858 thread and yes one does garner certain impressions.

As for 0846, surely a true supermodel of all the amazing looking cars Ferrari built, I have no qualms in admitting I would rather have a 412P or a P4 over a 250 GTO, even when looked at on a PC screen thousands of miles away I cant seem to find one bad angle, a true master of design, incidental most likely because I highly doubt aesthetics were on high on the list of Enzo Ferrari's requirements when he needed something to take on Ford.

As for 0846 I think Jim has done the absolute right thing, shared the info with us, posted the evidence,, documented the rebuild. Experts have given opinions and more than that he takes 0846 and his other cars on the road, shows them at shows and to me those things are what matters here, people of all ages get to see the car and one should never forget the impressions that cars like this can leave on people. I think for the most part all of us who post here today saw a Ferrari and it left and impression and that drove our passion for the cars.

Thanks Jim for sharing your cars!

What do the tifosi think of the statement, that the 330/P4 is nothing but an evolution of the first rear engine prototype built by the Maranello factory? Wouldn't that be the 250 LM? (OK, maybe the author was referring to the P2 as the first rear engine Ferrari and was a little careless.)

250 P was the first 12 cylinder mid engined Ferrari, the origins of which can be traced back to the 246 SP.
