+1 .......... I think 295s would indeed be too wide for your combination .... that 'at the limit' offset is what I recall seeing in the past with those 360 wheels .......... what year is your 348?

Maybe an early 348 owner with 360 wheels can chime in with some pics? :)

I have the same setup and love the way it fills in at the front of the rear fender but the back sticks out a little to much.

There are some very talented people out here, I can't believe someone hasn't modified the rear bumper to accommodate the tires. Just a little flare would make it look ecstatically pleasing and functional.

I never had my wheels modified because of the trade off. Even with the stock wheels, they stick out a little in the back but way too far in on the front. Just my opinion. So, I just deal with it, and it has grown on me.

Mine is a '92 but pre increased offset. I used to run the 25mm spacers with the stick wheels but removed them for the challenge wheels.

I would have to revert to my original opinion ..... :)

    225/40-18 -- front
    &
    285/35-18 -- rear

These sizes ^^ make the 348 look flatter and wider ...... which goes along with its body style ...

IMO, stock 360 tire sizes are too 'tall and chunky' for the 348 body style ......

Yeah, I could see why you took the spacers out ... 25mm would be too thick for that combo ........ I think 11mm spacers would be perfect though .... :)

I made a mistake in my earlier post , my rear size is 275/35/18, and stock (225/40/18)355 size up front, lower the car a little and those sizes seem to look perfect, rears don't look too chunky , wide , but low profile.

I thought 275/35-18 will make the 348 look even more flatter?

stock 360 tires is 26.7" diameter.
    275/35-18 is 25.6" diameter.
    285/35-18 is at 25.9" diameter.

Going with 285 is only making it 0.8" flatter. while 275 will make it 1.1" flatter.
Maybe I should go with 275 to be on the safe side as it give more wheel arch clearance?

we lowered the car a little more in the front than the rear to give it a little rake and it looks perfect

Yes the 275/35 is even more flat than the 285/35 ...... my original 'flatter' comparison was against the stock 360 tires of 275/40.

The reason I like the 285/35 is because it gives the 348 a slightly more modern look (a tad bigger on the rear ... but not too big ;) ) ..... also I have seen that 285/35 size used on several 348s and it looked near perfect for the 348 IMO ..... but the difference between 275/35 and 285/35 .... is not really much .... .3" diameter or 1.5" difference around the perimeter of the tire.

Looks like there was a lot of good info posted by everyone and it seems to have helped make your decision ....... :)

What tire pressures do you put on your 360 wheels?

I think my final decision is to run 225/40/18 in the front, 285/35/18 in the rear.

I always wondered if I had the right tires on my car... I'm running 360 wheels which were "cut" for the car. The OEM wheels (which I have) seemed to fill out the wheel well a bit more ... a look I actually prefer.

I'm in need of new tires for the rear and was about to pull the trigger on the same size.. glad I saw this thread.

    Currently it has
    255 /40 18 on the rear
    215/45 18 on the front

Mine barely reach the edge of the wheel well. I'm thinking I can go with bigger tires...

    Thoughts?

btw '93 speciale if that makes a difference

Yeah, i can see you need a little more rubber on the back from looking at the sidewalls. I think those wheels should have stock 275s on them. Those wheels look great though!!

Good looking wheels :) ......... it looks like they 'cut' a tiny bit too much off the rear :( ....... do you know if these wheel widths the same as stock 360 star wheels?

Not sure previous owner cut them. Been thinking about spacers for the rear to bring them out a bit.. but 15 mm might be too much.not sure what size tires to run either.

I just bought a 348 with 360 wheels on it. 215/45/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. The PO said he did not machine the back of the hub (sucking it into the wheel well). He ran the car about 1500 miles with that set up and I see no evidence of tire rub any where.

I'm convinced that not all tire makers aspect ratios are the same, and clearly their side wall profiles/angles can differ. I had two sets of wheels on my 94 esprit...same wheel specs and offset, same tire specs but different makers. One set rubbed on full lock and the other did not. Only thing that changed in the equation was the tire make.

What brand tires are on your car?
I am running Bridgestone S04. It has very good review. I feel the tires are heavier and wider then my old Michelle Pilot Sport.

I also notice tire pressure makes some difference. When I set tire pressure at 35, it rubs fender a bit going over bumps at freeway speed, if I set tire pressure to 30, it seems not rubbing anymore.

Just had the 225 40 front and 275 35 rears put on today. Front looks much better... rears I'm thinking when these wear.. I'm going with 295.

If your wheels are machined down, then you could try 285/35 or 295/35. If your wheels are not machined (like mine), then 275/35 with 30 psi tire pressure is the best choice. No rubbing issues so far. Personally, I don't see much difference between 275 and 295 if you look from distance away.
