So Gangsta, what you'll have gained from this thread is no one agrees, and that's normal. The inter banter between models is as such, and on a wider scale say Porsche vs Ferrari vs Lamborghini even worse.

It's mostly in good spirit but what you can gain from this, is one way or another a Ferrari is a little exclusive, a little expensive, but if you get the one you like the immense pleasure from owning it will out weigh many of the problems you might get.

You do buy these cars with your heart and not your head, but above all buy the one you want and not what your neighbour wants.

Both cars are simply SUH-LOW by today's standards. If you're looking for outright speed/performance, buy a Vette; it'll slaughter either of these two cars, and a 355 to boot. But...if you're looking for soul, panache, balance, pedigree and sound...either will do ;-)

    Nope.

My 348 is very solid. No squeaks or rattles.

A vette wont slaughter a 355 in top speed.

Now we're talk'in ;) and Vette's are a dime a dozen. Ferrari is Ferrari zero comparison. It's more than just speed, it's attidute!

Thanks! I am not buying a 348 for performance, but because I am passionate with this car.

Why are the 328s usually more expensive than the 348s?

328s were the most updated version of the older classic aesthetics, so go for a bit more amongst those who prefer that styling and character.

The 348 was, in my view, the first of a new breed. :)

    All the best,
    Andrew.

I think for a couple of reasons. First I think they built fewer of the 328's than 348's and this will help support the 328's value. Also, as they are older and simpler they may be more reliable (or perceived to be) and in general older/simpler means less costly repairs and service costs. Don't forget the engine stays in the car for servicing. Try and get an old copy of FORZA with an article on the 328 for Pros and Cons.

I guess you are looking for a GTS, but your best would be a 328 GTB. That is my opinion. Rare and nice.

    Buy your dream.

You will always try and justify why you bought the 328 , and if you buy a turd of a 328, you will regret your purchase.

Buy the best one you can find.

    Good luck !

If one article is already making you switch your mind from car to car ...... You are not ready for a Ferrari yet.

Sleep on it, and go visit 5 cars of each before you do something you will regret later on.

Hah...I think he might be too ready :p

This is really good advice though...go drive them...you will soon seen which suits you most....they are all wonderful cares IMO, you really can't go wrong and I doubt you will regret buying either. :)

I often regret my decision not to buy one earlier because I wasn't sure which was the right one. Happy with my final decision, but could have had quite a few more years of enjoyment in one because I didn't buy earlier, when I really could have ;)

    What he said.

Interesting post -- I thought the 328 was slightly slower, but stand corrected.

Yes, 308 and 328 prices are trending up in the US, especially glass 308s. They were the last of the classic body-on-frame cars, and the styling is pretty universally admired.

Now that you decided .... Look at every thing possible regarding 348s ...the good, the bad.
Read every blog, post, year of production.
Understand the car as best as possible.
Service costs, ownership, drivability reviews, production numbers, hard tops vs ragtops...the list is long.
Then go visit the 2-3 cars in your area with easy access.
Sit in the car, pop the hood, close the doors, really check the interior, engine bay, cargo area.
Understand wear and tear and mileage.
Within 3 cars you will notice a difference between them, there are never any 3 used cars alike.
Take your time in buying your first Ferrari.
Don't get all excited after seeing the first car, they will all look shiny and cool. What you want to do is study the difference between a good used car for value over a crappy car for less or more money.
The biggest issue with all ferrari's on the used market ....the worst cars are too expensive and near in price to a good car. Then when an awesome car shows up for more money , the whiners and dummies that know nothing hit the car based in price.
Just be aware that if a car is 20k more than another 348 investigate why ?
The guys that have good sorted cars will want some kind of premium , in most cases it's worth it. The only real way to know this is to educate yourself.
Take your time, and learn to weed out the poseurs from the real deal.
Every Ferrari is expensive to maintain as a hobby car....but many times, the cheapest purchase price Ferrari becomes the MOST expensive one of the bunch.
Take your time, and educate yourself on what you feel is important to you as a brand new owner.
This will go a long way into happy and long term ownership like many if us.
    Good luck in your search!

Yet again a 348 thread can't go more than a page or two without a 348 owner taking a gratuitous swipe at 355's. Amazing really.
