Following this on Autosport the mcl boys are concerned about rear tire wear.
Gotta be honest, while they sound like ****, I'm starting to enjoy this; - they're sliding around all over the shop. Something many have wanted back for a longtime. - keeping the drivers on their toes - un reliability throws another dimension into the works. - they're really pushing the envelope again, rather than simply running dinosaurs. If they get 'em revving properly, and they can stay close, it may just be good...... I'm gonna stick with it for now at least.... Cheers, Ian
They sound horrible but nothing 18k rev limits won't fix. Also let 'em run with unlimited testing until the European season starts.
Recently, I have been thinking that testing should be allowed for all teams at designated times between races, but should be limited based on the previous race result(s). So a back marker team would have significantly more testing than a front running team. Has this been tried or suggested before? Seems to me like it would work, as throwing a race to get more testing would never pay off as a long-term strategy.
Let's see what happens in the race. If they *****-foot around saving fuel I don't think that anyone will be too happy.
