Some of those are awesome! Thanks for the link.

Almost, but not quite, as nice as the 'girls of F1' thread! ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

Excellent, but can anyone explain the fully enclosed braking system to me ?

It doesn't make sense, I know the air is funneled in via ducting but I would have thought the more exposure to heat release the better .

Might be due to aerodynamics, might be a part of the ERS system, or possibly better cooling. Not sure. I do know that optimum brake rotor cooling is achieved by forcing air into the center of the rotor and have it escape out through the holes/vanes on the outer edges.

But they seem to be restricting the escape of that heat by enclosing the rotor

I think it's just forcing the air to flow out through the outside face of the wheel instead of giving it a chance to come back out the inside face and affect airflow to the rest of the car.

As stated above... The air is forced out through the outboard side of the wheel.

I'm guessing that part of the issue too is that the brakes have to be kept up to a particular running temperature and the enclosure may be what is keeping them in that ideal operating range. Leave them open and it might cool too much inbetween uses.
