I received my Ferrari race exhaust and had it installed. Love it although I do want to connect the bypass valves. When I got the car back I noticed the following scrapes. Asked the mechanic He seemed surprised and said they just lifted it out but he said he had touch-up paint for the frame chips when this happens and that the steel would polish out. IHe did say he even had to remove the cats to install which would lead me to think they probably struggled first to get the new system in. would think towels down the side while working would prevent this. Is this sloppy work or to be expected?

Well to me yes. You should give the car back as they got it. No reason to struggle with a car like this if you know what you are doing. I wouldn't be happy if this was my car, but I guess it happens. I would see what they can do for your.

Should have remove engine bay cover when removing the original exhaust (it is tight and you have to wiggle up and out with some force). Racing exhaust back in is cake! I did it myself in 4hrs (putting rear bumper back and align was a pain on your own). Overall - very sloppy for a professional shop if they did all those damages. Was the bent in the left engine bay cover there before? Otherwise, they old you a replacement (not cheap).

That sucks! They do not care about the cars...That is easy to see. Considering this I wouldn't want them to be part of the resolution either.

Not very professional IMHO. If it was my car I'd touch up the black easy and never have them touch the car again. Silver heat shield... not sure if I'd paint it or polish it out or just replace it outright. I'd expect maybe one small nick or so.. but that's a bit excessive IMHO.

My guess is that they installed the new system without taking the bumper off, which (from what I have read) is difficult and limited in space (which would explain the damage).

Can I ask how much you paid for the factory racing exhaust?

Unacceptable for them to cause it and also unacceptable for them to return it like that.

My guess would be a dealer. I'm pretty sure I can guess which one also. Shoddy work, (and lies, in mine and one other case) has been an unfortunate trend with at least 4 or 5 people that I know.

The lack of respect, and lack of quality work these days is so disappointing.

Sorry to see and hear this, can't say I'm surprised.

Sloppy is not the word I would use .... This is negligent.

I agree with the above comments, I believe the level of service at some places is slowing decreasing. I had some work done in my front trunk and when they re-installed the back panel they put all the screws in the wrong holes. So the top screws were not hooked to anything and the bottom ones were sticking out above 1/2". Pathetic!! I have never returned there.

In regards to the exhaust install, my car also has a small nick in the black paint. I assume from the Tubi install, which was done when the car was new, also done by a dealer (I have the invoice from when the work was done). Trying to find a paint kit that I can use to touch it up.

    Any thoughts???

The work was done by an independent. Really amazed that could happen at a Ferrari dealer for what they charge. As for the price, I don't recall exactly but the $1,550 sounds about right. Got it from FERRARI OF CENTRAL FLORIDA FOR PARTS DISCOUNT-MICK 727-784-3377 Nice guy.

Thankfully I was wrong. Hopefully the place I was thinking of gets their act together before they get a name for themselves.

I would never accept that No matter what car I had. Very sloppy, who knows what else they did that you can't see.
