I can't wait to see the rest of them. I feel privileged that I kinda got a private photo shoot after most people had left and my Spider was sitting wide open. My little car did get a lot of love this weekend. Here's a cell phone pic with Captain Billy's Daytona in the backround. Pat did you by chance get any similar shots minus the girl? I didn't find one of these in my car when I was ready to leave, maybe I should have stayed a little longer.
As usual a great event, Thanks. I have been enjoying all the photos. Below are the shots I got. Sorry, but I didn't get one like that. I actually thought I did, because I noticed that was an angle that worked, but it may have been when more people were around and I intended to come back to it or something. I did add some additional shots of your car to the gallery, though. Added quite a few (up to 71 now) and have a bunch more I need to get to as well. Windgate Ranch Festival of Speed - March 22nd, 2014 - Desert-Motors.com :: Automotive Photography - Phoenix, Arizona Well I don't know about all of that, Carlo, but thanks for the kind words. The 355 looked great as usual! Windgate Ranch Festival of Speed - March 22nd, 2014 - IMG 7294 - Desert-Motors.com :: Automotive Photography - Phoenix, Arizona Great shots, Jim. Makes me want that 135 f2 even more (just guessing that's what you used for some of them based on the look). All the rolling shots are real nice, too.
Thanks Kyoso. Thanks Pat. Your shot are great. I was using a 10-22 (on a 5D) and 70-200 2.8 all day. I borrowed the 135 the other day, it is on my short list of lens I would like to have too. Cheers Jim
No, to use the lens I zoom the lens to 22mm then you put your thumb in the whole left by the rear element and pull the plastic back off. This allows you to mount it on a full frame. On a full frame it only really works from 16 to 22mm, at 14mm it starts to round corners off pretty bad, at 10 to 12mm it hits the mirror. If you want to be sure you don't zoom out to far you can put a filter on the front with an o-ring behind it. With the right o-ring / shim you can stop the lens from zooming out to 12mm. Frankly I don't bother, I'm just careful not to go full wide. On the odd occasion I forget it has not caused an issue other than the photo is blacked out since the mirror did not get out of the way. Cheers Jim
Pat, This is my new background on my PC. Beautifully done my friend. Thank you! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Glad you like it! I wouldn't normally bump a thread like this, but I finished uploading all of my photos from the event. Ended up with a whopping 128 photos, which is far more than I normally end up with for any event. Windgate Ranch Festival of Speed 2014 - March 22nd, 2014 - Desert-Motors.com :: Automotive Photography - Phoenix, Arizona Tried to get a little of everything, but definitely missed quite a few people. I also bumped my lens to manual focus on accident at one point without realizing it and ended up with a bunch of misfocused shots... think the sun was getting to me or something, haha. Anyway, I hope you like what you see!
