Congrats...
Congrats Dino! I knew this nice car couldn't stay unsold very long. It's got the perfect color ;-) If the new owner is not an Fchatter let him know we're here. We'll meet you in the 328 section!
You guys are the best!!! It was a great thread and I appreciate all of the constructive criticism. All good cars sell. I could have sold this car five times in the last two weeks. I guys the bears came out of hibernation.
Maybe this thread had something to do with all the recent interest? Congratulations, the car was really gorgeous and I bet you were happy and sad to see it go.
Congrats on the sale! Would've bought it if it wasn't for the repaint history, other than that seemed like a great car.
I only meant that his "intent" of a Museum here in Houston to hold them together (and a lot of money had been spent to build storage) as a personal legacy, was lost. There is no museum (much like Reno only got a fraction of Harrahs cars).. The cars all continue their journey thru time, to the four corners of the Earth. And life goes on. Ironically, local collector Jerry J. Moore befell a similar fate. No knowledge of his titles status, or strategy
That is good news Dino!!! On most Ferraris, the fresh paint is the nicer part of the car! Love yellow/black!!
Car was picked up yesterday. What a great value for the new owner. I could have sold that car 4 times since the sale. I knew I had a great one. These cars are really becoming hard to come by especially in yellow! I am happy she found a good home!
And I plan on driving it. thanks for the interesting thread. Next time for sale will be on my estate sale, with estimated miles being 135,000. I bought it to drive and enjoy. By the way, I am not Tristin, I had never heard of him until this post. I could care less. I think that this color of 512 is the most striking and awesome color possible. Red, all Ferrari's are red. What if all women looked alike? I am more than happy to have this car. All my others are American Muscle. Thanks, New Member as of today. Yellow512TR
You should be receiving the car this week. I am happy that you plan on driving it and enjoying it and not having it as a garage ornament. There are too many that simply look at these cars and don't drive them. You will be giddy when you hear this beauty when your rpm's exceed 4000. The exhaust note is absolutely wonderful!! The most memorable moments with the car were at cars and coffee. There is nothing like getting up at 5:00 a.m. and meeting your pals and talking car talk, drinking coffee and catching a bite. Life is Good!!! Enjoy!!
Welcome aboard! Glad to hear of your plans to drive it. Just don't drag race due to the diff. But beyond 10mph or so - you are welcome to stomp on it.
I bought this one for all of the things that were talked about above. I am a little disappointed that Reliable never told me that it had been picked up. I have to be out of town a couple of days this week so employees may be the first to drive it. Weather is crappy here anyhow. A side note, I am 54, I was wondering how Hagerty would insure this one, Actually pretty cheap. They don't/didn't even want my Viper. Do you suppose it is because more crazy people drive Vipers and accordingly more people are crazy about driving Ferrari's? Anyhow, I love the fact the car is more than it's predecessor the Testarossa, and that it is such a sharp looking Yellow. I personally would and did pay an extra 20k for the color. I suppose I should buy a membership to the forum now.
Congrats... You paid $20,000 over what it is worth??? If you purchased the car below $120,000, you didn't over pay at all...
Meaning I would pay 20,000 less for a red one. Just my personal preference. The more I learn about the car the happier I am. I feel I got a good value.
You did brother... Welcome to the TR world. Drive her in good health, don't have fear if you put miles on her the value goes down... The real value of these cars are when you keep driving them.
Jon I am a little disturbed that you stated that the car has a radiator issue. I can assure you that when the car left my possession that she was 100% mechanically! I can provide you with the shop owners name who performed the starter install and he will attest in writing that the car had no issue mechanically. I spoke to him last evening and he said he was more than happy to speak with you. This is a 22 year old italian sports car and things do happen to these cars unexpectedly. Check out some of the recent threads on Fchat. This is not a ford or chevrolet. You purchased my car at a very fair price. I had the opportunity to sell the car 4 times after we agreed to terms and you gave me a deposit, one at full price. It is a rare color as this is one of the reasons you purchased the car. You had an opportunity to perform a PPI and elected not to. Had there been any issue, which there was no issue with the vehicle when it left my possession, it would have been addressed prior to any sale and I would have adjusted the price to reflect any repairs if needed. You need to be prepared to invest money in this or any used car throughout the years as this is part of ownership of these classic italian sports cars. I would start by checking hoses, clamps etc. I would also question the transport company since this car had no issues when it left my possession. Enjoy the car and drive it in good health. She is a real beauty!
