BBS FI wheels instock (no wait)

I run the stock 285 tires without spacers on the rear which is probably why I didn't run into the same issues that you did. They already stick out perfectly IMHO. Even my Scud buddies here tell me that it looks perfectly flush with the car from the side. You probably also got the front wheels after BBS had them remanufactured with the correct offset so there were no caliper clearance issues.

I just came across a set of alignment specs that supposedly reduces the understeering tendencies and will be giving it a try the next time I take it in for service.

 

Do you still have BBS FI Ti grey color available? for the 430 Scud.. can 325/30/19 and 245/35/19 tires fit the rims? Thanks!

I had 305's on mine and it was pretty close..I wouldn't go with 325's. The front's rubbed when lowered so I had to raise it back up to stock height.

Correction...285's not 305's. I was thinking of my other cars. Although, I'll have to ask the new owner what tires sizes I ended up going with when I got RE-11 replacements. I don't remember off hand. I'll get back to you guys.

 

285s on BBS 11.25" rims? Maybe the more aggressive offset will make it rub on 305s right?

 

how much are they shipped to CA? so 305/30/19rear and 245/35/19 for the front?

 

I remember the stock corsa 285 tires being stretched on those FI's. I may have gone with larger tires in the rear with the RE-11's.

 

I asked my buddy and the rear RE-11's are 295/35R19" tires.

I ran 305's on the BBSFI Wheels on my Scuderia. l had constant clearance issues with the lip of the rear guard. I ended up having the lip trimmed back as they do with the Challenge cars.
The car was not lowered to any great extent either.

 

So the BBS FI with 305s wil have some rubbing issues? Because I dont want the sidewall of the tires to be stretched like on the stock tires in front, thats why I wanna use 305s on the rear... or maybe I'll get the 305s for my stock wheels + 15mm spacers first and see if its bulging too much out since its a 10" rim only. I think some scud owners here did that already (305s on stock rims). For the front I'll use 245/35/19 with 10mm spacers. You think that'll work?

 

Thanks for asking... I plan to use Trofeo R tires and unfortunately they dont have 295/35 on their list.

 

For 10mm front and 15mm rear spacers are the Ti bolts sufficient or did you have to get a custom set made up?

For 10mm or above spacers, you should get longer bolts from H&R or Novitec Ti bolts..

 

Are Novitec Ti bolts longer than oem Ti bolts?

You're going to have rubbing issues front & rear with or without spacers esp if you lowered your vehicle. The offset on the bbs fi is very aggressive, so rubadubdub.

If you maintain stock ride height (or close) and run stock tire sizes you won't rub. I learned the expensive way

 

I agree with freshmeat in that regard. I had to get the insides of my front fenders repainted so many times before we finally found the right setup with these wheels/tires.

 

Oh really?? So whats the offset of the BBS FI? vs the stock offset? I just know the width is 11.25 and 8.75"

 

I had them mounted w/ Pirelli Trofeo R 235/35/19 and 295/30/19, no rubbing and drive perfectly fine.

 

simon, you forgot to mention your über-negative-camber all around =) not terribly great for street handling or tire wear.
