Ricardo- Sounds like a bunch of fiddly stuff that could be a pain to fix. The big parts are ok, but the details sound pretty bleak. I would worry most about the air conditioning, switches, and steering column which are expensive to fix and replace. Steering noise could be just one of the plastic covers, though. Tires are timed out at 8 years and have to be replaced. Wheel is easy to fix. TPMS sensors are around $80 each plus installation on the internet. Sticky buttons are fixable, but relatively expensive.

Ricambi has a metal piece for the F1 selector that should fix that.

Your call, but not one I would probably want because the risk is high.

I don't know what you are paying for the car, but in my mind it would have to be a very, very good deal. That 20,000e estimate will likely turn out to cost 23,000e or even more.

Of course if you like doing some things yourself and welcome the challenge, then I guess you could go for it.

I agree...your call but I wouldn't go with this one. 612s are not everywhere, but I think you should be able to find something better. In my opinion, better to pay more for a better conditioned example. Besides, what else is close to falling apart on this one that may not have shown up in the PPI!

While I agree with everyone else that the list is daunting and naturally gives pause for concern, not speaking of this one car in particular, but I'd like to put it out there that generally speaking, I think it's sad when these wonderful cars are left to rot for need of maintenance. Mine was nowhere near as problematic, but needed a few big things, and I ended up spending about half that to get it sorted last spring. $9k is a comparatively small figure to get a $300k exotic well sorted and on the road. And to be honest, I still need to do some sticky parts, maybe someday fix the mirror control, have an issue with the aftermarket stereo I need to address, and now it needs front brakes. I could spend a couple grand more this spring, if I wanted it perfect. My point is, if this is the right car, and you're going to love her, maybe consider negotiating a price that makes it worth your while to have the honor of bringing her back. You'll get to enjoy greater pride in ownership. Just a thought to ponder.

there are few cars of this type that don't need a few issues sorting ,so if you like the car and can get it at the right price then...

She looks very nice. Like the Daytonas with red stitching. I usually recommend Michelin Pilot Super Sports as the best all around street tire for Ferraris. Standard 612 sizes for 20" wheels are 245/35 20 and 285/35 20.

Got to love the traditional red / black combo. Wish I had the interior carbon treatment in mine.

    Enjoy.

Surprised G Pepper hasn't weighed in yet. Probably kicking himself he didn't find that red 612 before you did.

Thank you all. I also think it's a beauty.

Question: Is it safe to present the vin here in public? Or should I present it partially?

Ricardo- Not much anybody can do with your VIN, but all anybody here is really interested in seeing is the last 6, also known as the serial number. Mine is 135171.

My Scag has a nameplate on the dash.

The prior Owner was kind enough to leave it blank for me. :)

Does anybody know how to remove it in order to get it engraved? It looks glued or bolted but I couldn't be sure.
