I am doing a DIY de-sticky on my 360. Labor intensive, but going smoothly until I got to the passenger door. Having trouble removing the passenger grab handle despite looking at the exploded parts diagram from Ricambi. Removed the 2 allen bolts for the top bracket, but can get the bracket to separate from the door panel.

Anyone done this before on a 360? Wondering if there is a blind bol behind the door panel that would require removing the entire panel.

    Thanks.

The upper and lower attachment brackets on the 360 grab handle are made of aluminim and covered in a coating similar to the plastic coatings used on the other 360 parts (and interior plastic parts on the 348, 355 and 430). Over time, these plastic coatings begin to degrade and turn into a stick mess. Very well-known problem. I want to remiove the coatings and replaint the metal with automotive matte black paint. To do this, the parts have to be removed from the car.

Already did. Some limited info on this particular issue over there. There is a DIY page but it was done on a 430, which apparently has a different method for attaching the grab bar.

I would bet James at Norwoods knows how to do it...

James would certainly know. I will probably do as much de-sticky on the car as I am comfortable doing, and then have James do the harder bits like the door latches.

Thanks Blesset. I am using Easy Off oven spray. Removes the stickies without too much effort.

Might want to be careful with easy off. it is extremely abrasive and can make the plastic brittle and ruin electronics over time if there is contact. Current wisdom is to use denatured rubbing alcohol. No residue and safe.

Yep, Easy Off burned right through my 348 plastic parts to point they were destroyed and had to be replaced. I'd use the sticky no more folks after that experience.

I have not had any issue using Easy Off. I left it on for less than a minute on each part promptly wiped clean and then washed the parts with soapy water. On the switch gear I used a small amount of simple green on a paper towel.

James at Norwoods did a terrific job of de-stickying (is that even a word?) the plastic pieces in my car. So worth having someone else do it.

I talked to James about it and agree that he would do a great job. He showed me the results they got on a Maser GrandSport. I like working on the car and the de-sticky is actually pretty easy, so I figured I would tackle it myself. If I run into problems, I'll take it over to James.
