    What is the best way to remove the housing that the thermostat is in . It is really stuck . I don't want to damage it when removing it. Any suggestions?

    Three nuts and a hose are it. Likely some sealant on the gasket holding it together.

    I got it with a rubber mallet it was really stuck . what temp should the thermostat open up at?
