Coledoggy has had the great fortune to have the door stop arm mounting bracket on his 355 break. We are trying to figure out how to remove it, as it won't fit to come out of the hole where the arm comes out. How do you access this area? Please tell me you don't have to remove the dash.

Edit: We (I, more accurately) managed to drop the arm and bracket down the hole. I'm sure this is going to create a lovely rattle for him. How do we fish this thing out?

I am pretty sure the dash blocks this opening where you access the stop for removal/replacement

BTW, there is no access in the fender well

Here's a nice unintended consequence of not having that door piece anymore, it swings open too wide...any idea what a new quarter panel costs?

    Remove the door?
I have had a door strap break on me on other cars. It can crease the front wing, or as above.

I also dropped my Door Stop down into the body when I removed the bolts.
I just used a coat hangar wire with a hook on the end and fished down thru the air vent and Dash wire bundle hole into the body.
Surprisingly I caught it on my first attempt and pull out thru that small hole.
It doesn't seem like it would go thru but by positioning it just right it will come out.
I wasn't smart enough to have attached a wire or string to the Stop before removing the bolts.

HUGE help, thanks! Maybe coledoggy will swing by the house later and we can go fishing with a coat hanger. Hopefully he will bring some beer, like all good fishing trips require.

I was having visions of removing the entire dashboard haunting my dreams. This is great news!

Why would you replace the fender? Just have it fixed and sprayed. Same work will happen to any replacement fender you source.

Super big thanks to Mike(harleyx49) and Nathan(nathandarby67).

Mike thank you so much for the FREE replacement hinge you sent me in 3 days also free of charge, and Nathan for helping me through one more of lifes challenge with a 355.

I'd still be scratching by backside wondering where to start or worse yet would've driven the damn thing down to nola to fix what ended up costing me nothing if it hadn't been for the help of these two guys. Really cool, thanks a lot!

Mike, Nathan had a great idea of shipping you some local Mississippi goodies, so be looking for a "thank you" package.

Todd, glad that the Door Strap arrived and also glad that I could help in some small way.
As a recent 348 owner I have come to know that one of the best ways to support your Ferrari is threw a Forum like this.
The knowledge and help here has been invaluable to me, so it is easy to give a little back.
Hope you get a good body shop to fix that kink in your door as the 348/355 to me is still one of the most iconic designs that already has been tested by time.
Will wait to see if other cars and models are still as desirable in 20 years.
