No, it had a brown wrapped dash as well. I think that is why I got it confused. And Bullit's new car is on the registry but there is no color info so that might be why I made an error in the s/n. Bullit, where did you buy your car from? I was going to go back to the Hemmings listing to double check some stuff but it's no longer up. Below are pictures of 82906. Note the beige seats. Not brown like Bullit's. What is that color in Italian? -F Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not much more in Europe either, Dave: so far, I know of only two "Verde Scuro Metallizatto" 328 GTBs in Europe that I have positively identified by their châssis numbers. The "nearest" one by number is 77639 ("Verde Scuro Met / Beige Leather / Castoro carpets") which was for sale two years ago in Germany with 58.000 kms on the odo. And, just for the fun, the car immediately after this GTB (= 78112) by chassis number is also a 328, but a GTS, 78113 (Rosso Corsa / Black leather / Black carpets) which is here in France. Rgds
It was owned by a guy who owned a tree trimming business in Salem. He bought the car from Ferrari of New England and it had about 100,000 miles on it but it looked like it was brand new. His name was Brandon if I remember correctly. Your car is beautiful. Good luck with it.
The owner of the dealership ordered it and it was in his private collection. The dealership closed in the early 90's and when the owner past his wife sold off the cars in his collection. He had a this Verde/Brown GTB, a Marone (Brown)/tan 1988 Testarossa, a 308GTO, a custom made 450SEL Station Wagon and a few other really cool oddball colored cars. I think his first name was Hans, If memory serves me right their was a small euro looking yellow dealership decal centered at the bottom of the rear wind on this GTB and the Testarossa. The owner would rotate his cars in and out of the tiny showroom at the dealership. It was a Ferrari, Alfa-Romeo dealer and in the early 80's he added BMW, towards the very end he added Nissan to the mix
Ron, You're confusing a couple of guys here.... Brandon in Salem owned a red/tan 328 with well over 100k miles. His friend (I think his name was Brian), who owned the tree trimming business, owned the green car. That green GTB had EXTREMELY low miles. I want to say it only had around 1-2k miles when Brian bought it. Either way, it was a pretty car.
Thanks for posting this car a couple of months ago. I would not have seen it in Hemmings in time. I really appreciate it. The original dealer was AutoHaus in Cohasset, Mass.
I am sorry it took so long to respond. My daughter is in second grade and a boy in her class, Wilson Patterson, has leukemia and my wife and I are helping hold a few fundraisers for him and his family. (T-Shirts, bake sale, etc.) So this is keeping me pretty busy at the moment. So now I will catch up.
Yes. That is correct. I bought it from Mike in Santa Monica. He is a super nice guy. I don't think he was too active in any Ferrari clubs or sites. I don't think too many people knew about this car. I will check the window sticker again, but I think it reads brown for the interior. I'll check again to make sure.
