I would be if there was one. So far, I haven't been able to get a straight answer to any of my inquiries.

Anyone else see similarities to the intro of the Gen one NSX?
    Lotsa press, anticipation, hype, etc.
When they finally hit the dealerships, over exuberance prevailed and 100% markups ensued.
It may take $80k to score a 4C.

I'm sure there will be a strong market at first and whether the dealers take the mark up or sell at sticker is tbd...either way I'm sure there will be cars available at over MSRP if one cannot get an early at-MSRP allocation. Of course that assumes they ever sell the damn things in the USA.

I'm a buyer at MSRP. I won't buy for (much) over just on principle. Too many great cars out there to get gouged on any one car IMHO.

Oh, which reminds me...ahem...Alfa 4C sucks, virtually every car is better, you will catch terminal koodies if you touch one.

I'm with you on that. I'm mature enough to wait until I can get one for list. I don't have to be the first kid on the block with one.

Nice find. I cannot show that to the Frau. She will desire her own just as displayed in the video. White etc etc. I also wonder if that is more fun than the coupe. A superb open air motoring machine.

Coupe vs spider is going to be a very difficult choice...err, assuming we can ever get to make that choice.

Haven't seen this video posted in this thread yet:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGwawx4zaMg]Alfa 4C v Porsche Cayman S - /CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS - YouTube[/ame]

Seems as though Harris gets the 4C's appeal.

Finally watched that. Yes, you can keep your perfect Porsche. I'd rather have something more interesting, not to mention smaller and lighter.

    Cheers,

    George

As much as I love the Cayman, I agree totally on this. The 4C isn't just another Cayman competitor, it's Alfa's own interpretation of what a small sports car should be.

It's unique, and uniqueness is an extremely rare trait in the ever-more monotonous automotive landscape.

Harris nailed it- the Porsche is a great car and nice dd, but the Alfa is "special"-EXACTLY!

I think it's marvelous people keep comparing it to the Cayman. The Cayman IS a great car.

The Alfa is what Alfa's have always been -- different and special.

I can see buying a Cayman as a daily driver. I can see buying a 4c for weekend fun.

Thank goodness Alfa made something that isn't a Porsche for those who want something different.

Is it better than a Cayman? On many levels (particularly creature comfort and some driveability issues), No.

    Do I care? Honestly, no.

In 1982 you could have made the same argument about the 911 vs the 308. Did it matter then? Nope.

Great post. We have enough perfect cars in the world. They are beyond clinical. Other makers take note of the passion the 4C brings. Take note!

Nice video or someone driving their car in France. The car sounds great inside. A definite 60's Euro kind of flair.

That was wonderful! Great cabin sound - not too loud but engaging - and the car seems to have good torque through a wide rev range.
