Whats the differences, apart the weight, power and interior. Is the F1 shifting different like the Scud to the 430? or the suspension. And the software?

    Thanks

Excitement level has moved up a level.

    Faster shifting up/down

Addition of more trick software Side Slip Control - so you can hand the tail out without suicidal consequences ( well that's the aim)

Overall more track focussed and in keeping with the lineage of its predecessors.

I can't wait to drive one!!

weight/power and interior are all very big changes...
Fast upshift generation 2: sportier upshifts, long accel resumed 40% earlier and 20% faster engine speed matching
Brakes are a huge upgrade (same as LaF)
    SSC: slide slip angle control
Aero is different (active aero): 1.5: efficient Cx: .35 Cz .53
    steering response is better
    SCME- new suspension
    lateral acceleration: 1.33g
    Tires are different
    14:1 compression ratio
    E-Dif3
    90kg lighter
    Thinner glass in side windows/windshield
    Lexan rear window

There is some more, but you get the point, this car is going to be awesome!!!

There are some differences one might want to know before switching to a Speciale...
Apart from weight, power and interior (which sum up to an even higher level of thrill and performance) the engineers tweaked the gearbox to a new level. In Sport-Mode the gearbox reminds me of the PDK in my Porsche - smooth gear-changes with a quite high level of comfort. In Race-Mode however it changes gear insanely quick and noticeably faster, especially on downshifts.
Body-roll is reduced, the suspension is overall stiffer, yet not too hard.
The noise-level inside is overall higher, especially the tyres are louder.

Thanks for the info. Its hard to see all the fine little differences(which actually make a big difference) when searching for the spec's of these cars.

I have a Scud and just toying with the idea of upgrading. But I love my Scud. Im a little afraid that getting either of these I will lose my smile while driving it. I know they are better cars in almost every way. But my main want in a Ferrari is the smile I get going around a corner with the windows down hearing the engine, feeling the kick in the back(harsh ride) of gear changes and then going through a tunnel and hearing an even louder engine note......

My dealer said to me that maybe both these cars are to perfect for me. He said that these are just made to perfection.

Sounds like the 360 CS would be the right car for you... ;)

Honestly - what makes me smile when I drive my Speciale is the fact, that it IS perfect in every way...

    To each his own... ;)

What I have learned is to keep both the new car and the old car for awhile to make sure the new car is really what you want. Learned this the hardway.

^^^ I agree with this. If you really love the Scud, I would wait for a 458 Speciale you can test drive before making the change.

Ive bought 3 cars from them ( only one Fcar ) I always deal with the service manager, not the sales guys. As the Service manager is a good friend of mine. So I get honest feedback. Its kinda a good setup, cause he gets the sales commission when I buy a car from him and its not his job to sell them. So its always a favor for a favor.

Its really nice to have a friend on the inside. You see things on a different level.
