While doing my oil change, upon removing the oil suction fan, it had this whitish remnant left. Is it some sort of stop leak, like plumbers tape, dried molykote?
Also, I have the molykote, and was wondering how much molykote should be used to lube the seals?

Also, the rear jacking points are obvious, but looking at the owners manual, I am not 100% sure where the front jacking points are located. Anyone have any advice on that?

Hmm...not sure about the white stuff. Just lube the o ring with enough to lightly coat the o ring. Jack points in front are rear of wheel well...90 degree shape to the jack point...anywhere along there. I'll see if I can find a pic or take one tomorrow...hth

Yep, that's where I jack mine.
That white stuff on the filter (fan) is strange. Is it like a plastic substance? Could it be packing material from the factory that was never removed when the part was installed originally?

Not sure on the white stuff. Kinda seemed like oil soaked plumbers tape but was thinner than any plumbers tape I've ever used. It tore very easily.

Nothing further to add other than you can jack the entire side of the car up on the rear jacking point alone. That wil allow you to get an axle stand under the front jacking point and some blocks under the reat wheels (or stands on the chassis if you have the under tray removed).

My apologies for the stolen photo, thanks for originally posting! Though it would be easier than linking to the old thread (I actually used the search function).

It would be nice to mention at the beginning of your thread the model of your car!

Absolutely NO apology needed, I posted it because I thought it could help people after I had the same question and my dealer showed me. I just thought it was funny...

Heya, next time I see you remind me to give you some "jacking point sticker-arrows" for the next time you need to do this.... Could make things much easier if you are ever in a pinch!
