A few cars and their caretakers made it out for coffee, a short drive and lunch on the north shore today... what a day to be out! A couple pics. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
^saw you on Alberni around 2. Car looks great, so clean. also a white 458 spider, black LP640 roadster and a blacked out 599
Really was a great weekend. Nice vibe around the city. Stopped by Weissach on Saturday afternoon to admire the hardware. Nice selection and can't wait for L to open up shop in Calgary soon. Loved the red Aventador on Denman Saturday which shook our little Car2go, and our souls. Incredble. Also the white/red 458 spider, white SLS, and red Muira in the LofV showroom. Too many other cars to rattle off... Can't wait to come back to town - when it isn't raining.
Thx for the quick posting, YVR-Schumi. It WAS a fantastic day! It was nice to get the significant others out as well to share the passion.
it was along 176th in Surrey. It's a pretty flat highway/road that ends to the border. Speed limit is 80 km/h but in reality average speed of vehicles is around 100 kmh. https://www.google.ca/maps/place/176+St/@49.0381961,-122.679655,13z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x5485d0083c6207ff:0xef42263e4771ede1
Any road that ends to the border will have lots of police patrolling the area. He must be too excited. Did he just get his 1st Ferrari?
He did mention he just got the car was "testing it out". I've seen people doing ridiculous speeds there before. 180km/h is not really that staggering. Cops are out and about, yes, mostly on nice days though.
Be careful guys, these few days I saw many cops hiding at the exit of highways. You know, these areas (highway's exit) are grey area, you exit at 100 kmh from highways, you shouldn't slam your brake to 50kmh right away, but slowly reduce it. This is what they are looking for, if you reduce it too slow, then tow car will come to pick you up. Looks like less income taxes have been filed in April, and some people just in high desperate for more cash.
I stopped in to see Walter Wolf up near Kelowna, and he told me a pretty neat story about winning a 512bb on a bet with Enzo on the 1977 Monaco Grand Prix. Then he lent the car to Gilles Villeneuve, who drove it so hard on the way back from being freshly serviced that they had to send it back to the factory.
This was pretty neat. Hagerty holds a driving event to teach new drivers about the fading art of the manual transmission, and owners of classics donate their time and risk their cars to pass on the enthusiasm. The kids were ecstatic and couldn't wait to get seat time - I interviewed one or two briefly after getting a spin in this lovely Dino. Imagine driving a stick-shift for the first time in your life and it's a Ferrari. Great stuff. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I saw a Mclaren P1 at Robson and Burrard holllllyy cowww, i couldn't believe my eyes, what an amazing looking car. It was certainly more beautiful in person. My next wish is spotting a Ferrari Laferrari. http://imgur.com/i5lWPJ5 http://imgur.com/vlooAvu
