    Hi guys,

I'm sure this debate has been voiced before. But i am kind of stuck on what to go for?

I have the choice of a Capristo sound 3 exhaust, without flaps. Or a Tubi Gen 2, stamped as 575, without flaps (the normal one, not the loud rummore one).

The problem is, i haven't heard either up close in person & I'm buying them from abroad. They're both used & near enough the same price.

I'm not planning to fit an x-pipe or any other mods just now. So going by other peoples experiences, what would you think is the best sounding one? least resonance at motorway speeds, loudest/high pitched in a good way etc.

My 575M is a late 2003 European model.

I'm welcome to all your suggestions.

    Cheers

Could always take both and sell which you don't want. "better sound" is pretty subjective, so ideally you just try them yourself. Seems there's always a market for them.

    Correct.

    I am doing this with a 1995 6-speed 456

    1) I tried it with stock exhaust.

Quiet, but with no "V-12 character."
had to do something - I mean, what's
the point of a Ferrari V-12
that sounds like a Buick !

    2) Installed 456 - specific Tubi mufflers.

    Better !

Now we are headed in the right direction !

    3) Installed Tubi 550 mufflers - on the 456.

This was (for some reason ?) "better" to me
than the 456 Tubi units. Firing order ?

    4) Installed BRADEN "resonator delete" pipes.
Not as good; too loud and "raspy."

    5) Re-install stock silencers, and retain BRADEN pipes.

    Now under test.

If I "like" the current setup, I can sell the Tubi units
on eBay for enough to recoup ALL my costs, and
have the sound that I "like," that has been "tested."

After all, the whole point is to please myself ........

    I'd be particularly interested in
"hearing" the results of your "test."

    I also have a 575M, and have
BRADEN " delete" pipes on order,
so that's my next order of business.............

TZ750 please keep us posted......I have a 456 and the Braden pipes, but not installed yet. I am curious to see how you like it with just those on your car.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Capristo doesn't suit a Maranello well. It screams and tears. Doesn't suit the Maranello's understated looks IMO.

Tubi is a much better sound. It's loud and very bassy, suiting the heavyweight brawler much more...

What's wrong with the first gen Tubi? If you're keeping the stock central resonator, the first gen sounds way better than the 575 ones. If you do the straight pipes or x pipes, then the first gen is too loud and the second gen is better.

I have Tubi's on my 2002 575 that were put on by a previous owner, is there any way of knowing which version they are? They sound great, louder and deeper than stock (which I have heard), but not outrageously loud (though at least one of my neighbour's disagrees).

It drones. Personally the Gen1 sounds best to me, but I can understand the complains about the droning.

Scott- Firing order on all the V12s, including the 456, is the same. Except the 456M.

Ryzo- What is your assembly number (in front of engine). If a late 03, you may already have straight pipes, which were fitted at Assembly Number 51797 in early Fall 2003.

Personally, I like the higher pitched Capristo exhaust note.

I had a gen 1 on my car for a while and I didn't notice any droning at all in the cabin, and it's something that I'm especially sensitive to. But I also have the central resonator in there. That said, every car is different and maybe mine is just a good car in that respect.

I did just take off my Gen 1 Tubis and replace them with straight pipes as I wanted something a little more aggressive. I think it's a perfect sound now (maybe too loud for some) and still no drone. I love it and now the Tubis will probably end up collecting dust on my shelves of parts.

If I replace the central resonator, all bets are off, because I think it would be way, way too loud in that case.

Thanks for all the great info guys, i have been doing a lot more researching & after what i've heard, i do prefer a more high pitched, screaming noise rather than a low down bassy note.

So i'm sure it will be the Capristo that i go for. Just to sort out buying them now.

Once i get them on i will post some vids with the hero cam on the back bumper.

But i'm working abroad for a few months, so expect the preview in July :))

Keep the convo going though guys, i'm getting a lot of good info.

    Thanks

I've got the straight pipes for my 456gt but not fitted the yet. I will be doing it retaining the stock rear silencers. Would be really interested to hear how it sounds inside the cabin while driving.

Is that how it sounds from outside?
