Firstly, check out TR512's Post #23 http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/f355-spider-roof-questions-2.389577 and then the video. The key to the conversion is replacing the two nuts with thinner nuts as shown in the video. Good luck!

Prob the easiest DIY here, but might as well post it... After test-driving a 1997 F 355 at a dealership, I saw the carbon-fiber sticker on the interior door-handles and liked it a lot, so I did it to mine. you can easily order a roll of this from the web....and use it for whatever. Credit to netman thanks Swapped out the lever this evening. Real easy job. Here is the process: 1 remove four screws that hold the lever mechanism in the console 2 disconnect the wire harness connector 3 remove the cover plate on the bottom of the unit by expanding the compression clips. There are 8 of them 4 you will see a hole in the center of the PCB. Remove the Phillips head screw at the base of the hole. No need to remove the 3 black screws. 5 cut a wire hanger into 4 pieces 3 inches long. 6 use a pick to elevate the snap clip under the aluminum facial while sliding a piece of the wire hanger underneath to prevent the clip from clamping back down. You will perform this step 4 times. Once on each side. 7 lift the aluminum facia from the blacklastic body. 8 turn the aluminum upside down so the reverse lever is in a upside down position 9 notice the small flat head screw. Remove to release the lever bar from the lever 10 be sure to account for and clear the broken tabs from the mechanism 11 insert the new part into the mechanism and screw the lever to the lever bar 12 insert the aluminum facia back into the black plastic body. Take care to align the parts 13 remove the hanger wire preventing he clamps from closing 14 replace and tighten the center screw 15 confirm mechanical operation 16 reinstall in your car 17 take a moment to appreciate your work and the fact you saved 3k 18 start the car and confirm operation by selecting reverse 19 enjoy your car
Thanks to all in thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/438578-cv-boot-replacement-355-a.html?highlight=355+boot+replacement
Thanks to f355bob Remove the small panels underneath the bumper just below each fog light. Remove the wire connector to the bulb and then remove the bulb by twisting it and it will come out of the fog light assembly. I believe you turn it counterclockwise. You do not remove the whole fog light, just the bulb. Reverse.
Thanks to Wilson This has happened to me twice now in 4 years. Now it did it again this AM. Get in car, turn key to start and the tranny light stays lit and a solid 5 second beep sounds. No gear selection possible. Can hear pump running in the back. The cause: Last drive I turned the car off while the wheels were still moving ever so slightly. The result: A confused set of sensors for the F1 system. The cure: Key out of car Put foot on brake and hold it. Turn key to accessory position and wait a moment. With foot still on brake, turn key off. With foot still on the brake, start the car. Viola...all better. I wonder how many tow jobs & dealer repair bills have transpired as a result of this over the years? It is a bit unnerving at first as visions of dollar bills dance in your head. A friendly public service announcement to all you 355F1 drivers
Thanks wilson Most likely the battery in the siren has given up the ghost. The siren is a Bosch 15213135. GM Parts Direct: 15213135 - ALARM I seem to recall I needed to buy a small connector to bridge the connections from the wire harness to the siren connector. Good write up about the siren here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/alarm-battery-upgrade-360-killing-red-dash-led.111884
Thanks to Jeff I had a similar problem with 348, the gauge was very slow to show full after filling. After tearing apart the sender, I found the float just barely floats, I mean only 0.5 mm of the whole float is above the surface. New senders are NLA, at least for the 348, and my work-around involves making a new float using something called: Nytrophyl. I have a blanking plate installed in the tank so I can use the car but the project will have to wait until winter as I am working on a Porsche Targa that clowns worked on. Here is a picture, note that one contact wire is a attached to the float like a spring. When that wire breaks, it shorts against the center contact and the sender is no longer accurate. FWIW. This is especially useful to those of us that have unblanketed headers. The motor mounts really take a beating from the heat so I have fabricated and documented the process with photos. Thanks to Jerry (Fchatter hpj) for sending me the design plans: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/448169-how-protect-motor-mounts-heat-2.html
