We surely must have met at Sebring! Stories are similar in many respects. My first Ferrari was a 72 Dino Gt purchased at the age of 28. Since that time there have been a total of 5. Current is a 360. Congrats on you 575 as it is a wonderful 12 with such modern classic lines. Maybe one of these days will talk at one of the Fl. events.

I've been smitten since I saw a Testa Rossa at the age of six.
The question is why I waited so long.

Congrats. The 456 is the most handsome Ferrari of the modern era IMHO.

Great thread this, love your cars.
I've wanted one ever since seeing a black 308gt4 when I was about 6 or 7 years old in the late 70's.

I was wearing my glasses tht I taped because they broke right between my eyes on the nose bridge.. It's ok, I had some in my pocket protector. The batteries in my calculator had died and I was going to radio shack to pick up a few. As I drove up to the store in my dilapidated pinto, I saw this smokin' blond walking past... I stopped my car and ran up to her and somehow blurted out.. "Will you go to prom with me?"

She looked me up and down and said.. "He'll no!" And as she was walking away mumbled " not with a car like that". I quietly vowed to never let my car sway an opinion...

That moment solidified my desire to get my 360.. A combination of sumptuous curves and beauty. I still never got a date with hot women... But now I have so much fun zipping around at 8000 RPM I just don't care. ;)

Hello, You made excellent choices! I waited 30 years before getting my 512TR, I wanted the 12 cylinders in the rear!

As I read your story and got to the part about 12 cylinders in the front, then the price limitation, I thought for sure you'd bought a 400i or a 412. I think your TWO 456's and especially the 575 are over that spending limit. But you know by now that a Ferrari is a gateway drug to ever more speed and expense!

Congratulations on making some great choices! Your only regret will be not doing it sooner.

*snip snip* "Honey its OK.. I got this covered. Trust me." hehehe

You know its funny.. the little pocket in the ashtray fits "vitamins" perfectly. ;) That's why the ashtray has a light right? To help you find them. Those smart smart Ferrari engineers...

Congrats! I love my 456M. Put over 15K on it in two years.

Your Eliminator Special is bonkers! I'm thinking of an SRT-10 pickup for my next DD, which will be a while because my Highlander is just to practical and newish to sell yet, and I'm getting an Alfa 4C first. :)

    Cheers,

    George
