I don't even know what day it is set for yet. Pretty sure Stan Reeg sets that up every year. It's held at St. Donatus Auto Body. They do great work and have painted a lot of exotics (Platinum, Best in Class at Ferrari National Meet winner for one). Greg did the wheels on my old Ferrari about 10 years ago. Pretty well attended gathering. A bunch of us from Wisconsin usually come down. I'm back from Cali finally so I'll be there for sure.

New spots from Cedar Rapids area:
Red Ferrari Testarossa (not sure what year) across from Zio Johno's on Center Point Rd
Black Nissan GT-R; same gentleman who owns the yellow Aventador

Black Maserati Quattroporte in downtown on 1st Ave
    Orange Lotus Elise on 380
White Rolls Royce Ghost on 380
    White 2007 Porsche 911 GT3
    Silver 1972 Porsche 911T

The last 2 are in our shop at the moment

I definitely plan on attending the club meet in St. Donatus (the pics from the '09 meet with the F50 still blow me away).

I don't have an exotic of my own, but I do have a couple of Italian bikes and my yellow '97 Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport is "supposedly" the only one in Iowa (and 1 of only about 43 yellow Sports in the country ('97 was the only year for yellow and the Injected models in N. America)), so I guess it could be considered an exotic motorcycle.

Please keep this thread updated with the date of the St. Donatus meet. I'll likely ride up there, unless someone is in need of a passenger/copilot and is passing by or through the Quad-Cities area on their way up... Hmm, never ridden in a Ferrari before. *wink wink* =-)

This is reason enough for me to attend by foot if I had to (what was that hit by The Proclaimers again?). The Diablo (and Countach) was my childhood obsession all throughout the '90's since its release and remains my all-time favorite car. Nothing could change that.

Sorry guys. I know this is FChat, but my soul belongs to the Devil lol.

ScreaminKaw - I live in Iowa and also own a 97 Guzzi 1100i. In my opinion, the best looking sport bike ever made -ergos are a little stretched! Mine is red so maybe yours is the only yellow Sport in Iowa!

Yes, they are an extremely attractive motorcycle. It's hard to argue with '90's Italian design, whether cars or motorcycles.

And that was also what I meant when I said "supposedly the only one in Iowa", as in supposedly the only yellow '97 Sport. I have no way of knowing for sure or any proof, but I've just been told about the high likelihood from many others in the Guzzi circle.

And "little stretch" is putting it nicely! I often describe the riding position as "having your knees bent as if you're trying to sit on your heels, all the while trying to reach for the front fender lol. It's like Italian racers had the legs of a dwarf and the arms of a gorilla. ;-)

However, I've yet to ride another bike that makes me feel as excited during and satisfied afterwards. I often refer it to as "the Lamborghini Countach of motorcycles": It isn't comfortable; it's raw, a little crude, and even a bit agricultural. But just LOOK at it! Just LISTEN to it! The sensations and emotions one gets when piloting one, especially on the right roads, is nothing short of pure ecstasy. You don't get one to be coddled; you get one to experience sensory overload!

Where are you located in Iowa? I know of a retired gentleman with a red '95 carb'd Sport 1100 with yellow wheels (and I believe with over 200k miles) around the Clarence, IA area, and I've also heard of a gentleman in either the Cedar Rapids or Cedar Falls area (one of the Cedars lol) with a red '97 1100 Sport.

Had a great time today in St. Donatus. Despite the early afternoon threat of rain and a few minutes of light precipitation, there was a great showing of a wide variety of eye candy.

Thanks to those that took the time to bring out their cars as well as the pleasant conversations. I'm looking forward to next year's meet.
