That's a lot of detail for such a small model.

Question: I would like to contact someone at the Model Factory Hiro in regards to their new 1:12 scale Ferrari 126C2 kit(s) which at the current moment, I'm considering buying two, however as I tried to navigate around on their website which is all in Japanese with very little English wording Its very frustrating and not very intuitive. So has anyone purchased models from Model Factory Hiro in Japan and whom should I contact to established an ongoing account with? I also curious to how much the four kit variations will cost... no pricing just yet... has anyone heard any rumors in regards to pricing... Pre-production images, they look very promising with the accuracy and detail… I like it so far!

    Thx
    Rob

There are several dealers in the US that carry there products including myself. Nobody knows the actual price yet but they are usually pretty consistent with there kit lines and the full detail 12th's are around $700.

FPPM will also be doing an Auto Union C 1936 kit in 1/24th scale!! This list keeps getting bigger and bigger.

I shudder to think of the price of that kit.

The price of MFH kits is reasonable when you consider everything they include to build an ultimate scale model. Buying a bare 1/12 kit then sourcing everything they include(even if you could) and paying separate prices and shipping for everything would cost as much or more. Try it with a Tamiya 1/12 MP4/6 or 641/2 kit.

I 100% agree with that. They made those very nice 2008 F1 cars in 1/12th for around $500.00(from Hapico). I figure the 917 will be $700.00-$800.00 as it is full detail and has a sportscar body. It should be amazing. I hope they do more vintage sportscars and F1 cars in 1/12th scale. A Hiro Ferrari 250 GTO 1964 series II in 1/12th scale would sell like crazy.

I think someone already did a 250GT in 1/18th( ABC kit??) and 1/24th by Airtrax. Also many have done it in 1/43rd.

this is true there were several 250 GT Lusso one reproduced by ABC Brianza 1:18 scale, but I was not referring to a complete kit but rather an additional transkit for an industrial model of high-grade already out on the market with regard to the model in question it is the 250 GT SWB CMC in 1961 that more accurately ...

Although this new Hiro 1/12th 126C2 is a very nice full detail kit I think it was a mistake to do it again in 1/12th scale as the Protar 126C2 1/12th model was not a bad kit with some minor work. I am sure the Hiro kit will not be perfect either.

There are so many other kits they could have done instead

I just received the Profil 24 Maserati 450S Sebring 1957 kit and have to say he nailed it!!

The body is near perfectly shaped and the resin chassis/cockpit and opening panels fit very tightly. The kit includes alot of very nice photoetch and correct wire wheels with the wires being photoetched but the rim offset looking very accurate. If Hiro were to make a CAD designed kit of this car I can promise it would not capture the look and feel of this Maserati as well as this Profil 24 kit does. Only one thing I do not like. Although the tires are the right height they have Dunlop tread instead of the proper Pirelli Stelvio Corse type run on the original car. Profil 24 full detail kits do take some effort to build if compared to plastic or resin curbside kits but in the right hands the end result will be amazing. I really love the engine and fuel tanks.

Thanks to Island Collectibles for having them available fast. Price is not cheap but still alot less than a full detail Hiro kit.

By the way, the rear cover is removable. You can see it is a tight fit from the photo.

I looked at the 450S kit at NNL East, I thought it was decent but picked up Profil's Iso Grifo instead. I didn't see the 1/12 Scarab if it was there.
