the dash airbag cover was ok, but not perfect, there were a few small bubbles. Luckily the leather had not shrunk, so I gently peeled it back and used a light adhesive to re stick the main area, then a stronger adhesive around the edges.

I love those floor mats. Do you know if they deliver to the US? I need the exact same color of blue!

Email Mark Webberley on this address: [email protected]

tell him you saw my (Mark McCracken) mats and want the same

    cheers

    Hi
am going to try the car with a F430 Scuderia strip kit, supplied by Brenden Bonning of F360 Performance Parts in Australia. I know its the other side of the world but it is a very high quality kit and well worth the extra postage - it actually arrived in a few days!

The Speedline Challenge wheels that are away getting refurbished, are being finished in the exact same shade of silver as the strip - with Black Speedline decals to match the outer edge of the stripe. We computer scanned the strip to get the correct shade and metal flake effect so hopefully they will be the perfect match.

Hopefully the wheels will be ready tomorrow, so we can see then.

I have not fitted the strip yet, but will as soon as some other jobs are done.

I have posted a picture from Brenden's website so you can see the finish i am after.

Mark ...i am talking with morethanpolish about a set of mats..mine is a uk spec car.

It looks to me as if the drivers side mat is a little shorter than the oem mat...there is a 2-3mm shortfall at the top of the new mat in the pic where it is overlaid on the oem.

How does the new mat fit in the car...nice and tight atound the gas peddle cover, etc?
They are prone to slide about if not tightly packed in the space.

    Thanku

    cheers

    Hi
I dropped the original wheel of at PoshWash to be refinished again, when looking at the paint closely, it looks like there may have be a slight contaminant in the paint or lacquer that caused the finish to be slightly off. Helpful as always James at PoshWash will have them refinished and turned around in a day or so.

I also picked up 10 new inserts for the wheels, the two rear wheels had small cracks on the inserts were they have been over tightened.

Top tip when replacing the inserts, smear a small amount of Loctite Thread Lock on the insert, drift the insert into the wheel, then tighten the wheel up as normal on the hub, this will press the insert completely home and the Loctite will secure.

Also, make sure there is no paint build up on the critical surface between the wheel bolt & wheel insert/seat - read this on Hill Engineering's page:

I went down to Hill Engineering today and spent a good bit of time with Paul Hill. Paul gave me a fantastic tour of the facilities and showed me some fantastic work-in-progress. The whole set-up is just superb, Paul is a true Ferrari enthusiast and an absolutely delightful, informative, helpful gentleman - what a pleasurable afternoon!

While there i picked up the parts I need for the new Speedline wheels:
    4 x 11mm Spacers
    20 x 67mm Wheel Bolts
1 x ChromeSaver socket (ChromeSaver Socket - Chrome Saver Socket by: Hill Engineering - Hill)

The refurbished Speedline Challenge wheels are back, and they are superb!

PoshWash has made a fantastic job, the finish is just stunning. The wheel have been painted in an exact match to the colour of the Scuderia Stripe that is going on the car. The Black Speedline decals complement the black edge of the stripe. Cant wait to get them fitted on the car.

I am thinking about buying a set of black or carbon Ferrari inserts for the wheel centres.

Will take some more pictures when i get the wheels polished and the new tyres blackened up.

    Mark...

If I get my wheels painted is it not better to remove the wheel inserts first?
If so it must not be a good idea to loctite them in to begin with.

Any pics of the new floor mats in the car?

    Hi Mark

I followed your amazing thread about the 275 and want to thank you for sharing your experiences. I am thrilled to see that you also have a 355 and now are doing a thread about this one. I have a 355 myself and this thread has been an inspiration for me to give also my car a bit more attention this spring. It is going in for a major in a few weeks and I have ordered new carpets for it and are also looking into fixing some of the plastics in the interior. My car is black with charcoal interior.

    Keep up the inspirational updates!

As we're talking wheel inserts......Am i right in saying that 72lbs is the right torque for the wheel nuts?
