that's so sad that there are so many that the real ones don't get the credit they deserve. we have a local guy with multiple originals in his collection, I bet when he goes to shows only a few take notice it is original, I bet most walking by prefer the new shinier ones and even vote for them.
DB4 chassis shortened and rebodied into a DB4 GT Zagato is like 250 GTE chassis shortened and rebodied into a 250 GTO.
yep, but still a DB4 chassis modified like still a GTE modified. I think we're in agreement destroying a real one is worse than making 100% fake, but that is still an original chassis under there. Two different things, that's why we have two different places for the Ferrari ones on FerrariChat. So this thread still belongs is British, not General Automotive.
I am not knowledgable enough to tell a well done replica from an original of any car. I do enjoy going to car shows to take pictures and it is always a thrill when something rare is shown. I thought the sheet in the window was an accurate representation of the vehicle but lately I've been finding out they often leave out the fact it is a replica or recreation. I've posted a few pictures here on Fchat thinking I had the real deal because that is the way it was presented only to have someone here set the record straight. This is the placard in the window of the red Cobra above. I guess it's real Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought once the OP's question had been adequately answered it would be ok to add my thoughts on a related matter which helps keep the thread alive. Sorry if that took the thread in the wrong direction as it was not my intention.
