    I've been following your thread. Congrats! Car looks amazing. I purchased my 328 in CA three years ago and had it shipped to TX for the same reason. It would have cost so much more to drive it home with CA taxes than just having it shipped. Have you driven it yet? Keep us posted on your journey.

    Yah - unless you want to pay additional tax. Think it is 2%.

    Honestly, I played phone tag with the sales guy there (my fault - super busy; not his), and I really connected with Michael Deeb @ Ferrari San Francisco. Michael and I share a lot of the same opinions about cars and life and we had a ton of laughs. The negotiation process was transparent from the beginning and made as easy as possible. Ferrari of San Francisco also has an impeccable reputation. Also some intangibles there like the CPO warranty was ready to go, they had just done the yearly service, the whole car was paint corrected and wrapped, wanted to drive coast to coast, etc.

    Actually the tax delta can be a lot more. For my CS it was almost 9% because I didn't have to pay sales tax on it in Arizona and ca rate was around 8.75% iirc at the time. Essentially it's the delta between your home state and ca. So it varies...

    Roger - did not realize that. Yah, for Pittsburgh it is 7%. So their tax must be 9%! Yikes!

    In New Mexico now...editing videos tonight if I have the energy : )

    Hit 2 tumble weeds, avoided several others - no damage haha. First one was fairly big but the Scud ATE IT!

    Also saw a group of cars get pelted with a spontaneous dust storm - kind of shocking honestly.

    Avoided around a dozen blown up tire treads.

    Trip was awesome, but definitely need to stay frosty.

    My first choice was North-ish through the rockies, but the potential for sketchy weather scared me away. Next stop is Oklahoma, then St Louis, then home.

    Honestly, this has been such an amazing experience that I feel I need to do it again with my wife, daughter, friends, etc. Just amazing. So maybe I will drive back out in the next few years...maybe for the challenge weekend at Ferrari of San Fran! : O

    Race + soft suspension is incredibly usable even on bad roads. I was nervous to be honest - the only wear on me has been my hip-flexors really. The roads in the East/South of Nevada are straight-up cheese graters! Spent most of the time in NM trying NOT to get arrested with perfect asphalt and miles of visibility. Still got some awesome vids before the gopro died ; )

    Awesome buy and looks like a fun road trip! I've driven to New York from DC area coupel of times and had a lot of fun along the way. How many miles does it car has?

    Thanks - loving it. I hope to do some more trips to reach some tracks on the east coast - so I'll be out in OH, E PA, NY, and VA soon I hope! Do you know that I have no idea on the miles - I haven't even looked. LOL. I've just been using the trip computer occasionally to stay focused for the next turn. I'll check today when I get to OK.

    From where you are and where you are going, you will pass by I-20. There are alot of cross wind there right now and rocks.

    Back in Pittsburgh. I think I will be putting tint on the car soon. Just a little too much attention for my taste. There are probably 200 pictures of me and the car on twitter at this point! Really a lot of congestion today in Ohio. I think they should change their state flag to a minivan blocking traffic in the left lane.

    Exhausted - will post more later/tomorrow. Trip went well and the car was flawless...think it has just under 11k miles on it now. Also - highly, highly recommend the Ritz in St Louis - what an amazing hotel and staff. Really on another level entirely!
