MT got 2.4 seconds for the standard car. which is right there with the 'secret' memo of 2.38 seconds for Weissach car. So yeah, it's all BS. Sure. and you referred to it as 'secret'. it was simply a fax meant for dealer use. And 'real' 918's are now getting to customers.

the 'standard' car run's in the 2.4's, as Motor Trend recorded recently (a new production car record, that is until Weissach car is tested...it's .05 to .1 quicker). LaF and P1 should still be quicker past 150mph as 918 loses hp from the front emotor disengaging.

918 has more gizmos and junk, so higher cost to develop. software integration was a killer. gotta sell a lot more cars and still not make any dough.

those fans up front really eat into storage space (which would've been little to begin with)!

Tend to believe that 918 is much pricier, in terms of rd even 3 times more expensive. So have to agree with Scuderia 980. In 918 there is almost no parts shared from model range, so very expensive work with suppliers. The more I think about 918 project the more I see that porsche invested ridiculous amout of money and development time on it, making it the most expensive supercar project to date. Being a good specialist in logistics I think that even decision to produce 918 units was driven by making bespoke parts and increase the quality management than making profit on more mass production.

All these are meaningless speculations. The P might be the most expensive, it might as well be the cheapest. No one really knows for sure and it makes no difference anyway. The final product is what counts!

It's a good thing Ferrari wouldn't allow you to buy one then, you must feel a bit better about settling for the P1 now :)

Seriously, who the hell buys one of these cars for their vast luggage space??

On a more serious note, is the LaF then only one of the 3 that has the fans at the front?

P1 has fans at the front, fans on the side and fans at the back. Basically it has fans all over because it is so incredibly hot, and awesome. :D

If the first costs 10 mil I doubt the next 29 cost 10 mil each.

You really have a fantasy garage? That's nice. It's just my views on a forum, get over it. Remember it's a fantasy it's not real. I pass up quotes all the time without reading them, maybe you should too. Sorry for spoiling your fantasy.

While I agree LF should have at bit more space, I don't think bare CF is equal to better build quality.
Still, if you plan for a weekend trip you might not be able to remove the roof on the 918, as it takes a lot of space.

Best thing to do for trips with these kind of cars is to send your luggage to the location before you do the trip.

you speak only about 60 mph but what is the time from 62 to 124mph compared to P1. The 4wd help at first, but after (because also the nissan GTR is good for 60 mph and you can see after), the power and weight of P1 makes the difference. P1 is 4sec and maybe a little less, and 918? What is the time for 0 to 124mph and time 0 to 150mph?

Complaints about storage space? Really? Ship the car and the luggage. Helmet bag on the floor. Who the hell has time for luggage anyway?

I must say though, how McLaren and Porsche have finished out their space is much nicer, perhaps even beautiful, for a space that is rarely seen.

Even this non WS proto is only 0,3 sec slower to 100mph, acording to MT.
Do you find it any difference at all? Really?

To be honest, 100 mph is not a serious rate of speed for these monsters.

Really? So you only hit the accelerator for 4-5 seconds at a time? That sounds pretty boring. lol

    So it's 0,5 sec for 60 to 100 mph. It's really a difference.
