I think people are reading too much into what LdM said.
An Italian website, autoblog.it, was taking a different approach saying LdM was misunderstood and there will be no special LF...
I'm pretty sure that all LaFerrari owners have the cash flow to buy any new XX car without selling their LaFerrari... In fact I'm also quite sure than most of the drivers involved in the XX program have the road version counterpart of their XX car (Enzo or 599GTO, and maybe both) The XX program seems quite successful, and I think Peter said there will be a new XX car, so it's only a matter of time until we see a LaFXX. Now a small production road car based on the LaFerrari, I'd be very curious to see how Ferrari would market that one. Not that it really matters anyway, they would sell each unit in no time.
Why is everyone assuming that Luca means it will be below LaFerrari? Ferrari doesn't know how to make more affordable version, they only make more expensive
People assume that becuase if Ferrari makes a more expensive LaFerrari, for the people who missed out the first time, the people who bought the LaF would be pissed.
It's not a matter of whether they'd be able to afford it, the point is if Ferrari introduce a more extreme version of LaF, they'd better make it available to the LaF owners first. Because right from the beginning F says 499 LaF will be made. If they make a version not called LaF but called say.. LaFXX, technically they didn't make another LaF, so they can get away with it. If they sell it to those who didnt get a LaF, current LaF owners will be pissed. But if they give LaF owners first right of refusal, LaF owners can decide if they want to upgrade, keep both cars, or just keep one. Not every single one of Laf owners would want to keep both as they already have 10 other cars in their garage. For the LaF owners who decide to sell their cars, those who didn't get it the first time have a second chance.
"At least for the moment, natural aspiration is seen as the propulsion of choice when it comes to thoroughbred Italian supercars, so we are expecting the future model to follow this path." Ah yes. We paeans will get turbos.
I agree. Most of the recent news point to this being the 'LaF XX'. Google it. A LaF with an F1 engine + KERS, now to me THAT's exciting And EXOTIC. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/288gto-f40-f50-enzo-laferrari/440600-new-special-ferrari-3.html
Fortunately the La XX will be getting a proper V12 instead of that ****ty F1 V6 that sounds like a dying asthmatic.
Eh, IMO it should go to people who didn't get the LF. You'd have to be one selfish, greedy, entitled, pathetic dick to whine about someone getting something you didn't, even though you just got one of the most desirable, limited cars in the world. If you got an LF, you should be very happy and thankful, not mad because someone else got something nice too.
How could they put an F1 engine in a road car? Um, assuming it even passed regulations, how long does an F1 engine even last? 1000 miles? Detuned F1 engine = who cares, it's not an F1 engine Real F1 engine = unusable money pit
That was not really a Formula 1 engine. It was 1.2 litres larger, revved much lower and produced 2/3 of the power. Anyway, that was a V12 at least. Today's F1 engines suck.
That's a far cry from the 15000-20000 rpm that a modern f1 engine, no? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Modern F1 ICE rev to about 11-12k even though the allowed limit is 15k and are designed to last about 4500-5000 kms.
I think you are wrong. As you can imagine it's not easy to get a LF. You must play by certain rules. That Ferrari allows you to be on the list is a reward in itself but if they then decide to reward people who didn't qualify (and them only) for x or y reasons with something more special or as special as a LF, I could understand why they would be upset and feel cheated.
Maybe not real but as I recall Tiff Needell drove the Ferrari F1 car and the F50 same day and was happy to drive both. He noted that the F50 was as close as you were going to get to an F1 experience on the street back then. CH
And so no one new should ever be allowed to get one? The same 500 people should always get the cars? Guy 525, who probably has a nice collection and bought lots of cars, should never get anything for his brand loyalty and collection?
