Guys, that was me. I was not able to purchase Keith's car because I ended up with a 360.
The 355 looks, drive and sounds amazing. If you are from out of state, I think, it's worth a trip just to test drive it.

Boy, does that car ever look familiar! (I was the previous owner for the 5 years prior to Doug...).

Its a beauty-- shame I have to sell it already, but business before pleasure.

Be very careful with that thought. I put off my dream for 13 years prior to buying my car last year due to business. There is always a reason to not spend the money.

I started to think "if I keep putting it off, I might be dead before the right day comes". The day after that thought I started my search and had a car in my garage 8 weeks later.

I have a full offer on the table, but the buyer is looking to pay via PayPal. Anyone have any experience with PayPal on bigger purchases like this? Is there a way to confirm funds before transferring title, easily?

Sounds sketchy. Not to mention, you will pay 3% in fees.

I'd tell him to transfer his funds from paypal into his own account, and then wire the money to you.

Having used PayPal extensively I completely agree with this suggestion. I would not use PayPal for a transaction like this.

+1. As a dealer, I would never accept PayPal for this type of transaction.

A deposit, yes. Full purchase price, no.

I would not be so quick to rule Paypal out. They may (I'm not sure) have a service for this level of purchase - contact paypal directly and ask them.

Keith, please call me and I am happy to send your a purchase contract that you can amend to outline all deal points.

Also, I would not release the car until the funds are in your account and available to you.

After have transferred title online and he has provided you with proof of insurance, you can release the car.

Call me. PM sent with my contact #

They probably want to use PayPal to pay with a credit card. Have you met the buyer in person? If not, then be suspect of a potential stolen credit card.

95% chance that the Paypal request is a scam. The buyer wants to make you 'feel' secure. (Not to mention paypal takes a couple percent, if indeed it was legit).
    Wire transfer or nothing.

Let them pay the fees and if the money shows up in your account then let him have it.

Years ago I bought my wife's SL55 on an American Express card (no fees which means the dealer scalped me) so may te guy wants to use his CC.

    The points were good

The guy seemed totally fishy, so the car is available again.

Let me know if interested- $64,500.

There are so many weirdo scammers out there. I stopped selling stuff on Craigslist for just that reason. GLWS, hope the transaction ends up being a pleasant experience when it happens.

Autocheck says it had an accident in November 2013, any info on that?

No accident, just scuffed it on a curb as originally noted in this thread. I had Craig at Fast Cars put on a new bumper and that was it. He can back-up the work and how minor it was.
