Hi guys, I'm interested in establishing the friction point for 3 pedal cars. Do you guys get "bite" on the clutch after you lift the clutch from completely pressed.. 1) 1 inch from the bulkhead 2) 2 inches from the bulkhead etc. 3) etc. etc. This will give a searchable database for normal clutch "feel" vs. slipping or bad clutch. Mine as of right now is about 1" off the bulkhead. Press in and lift slightly and I get bite..
You need to show where you are measuring from. My clutch seems to engage at about the halfway point of it's travel but I am just guessing. Are there no adjustments in the linkage?
Hi Curt, just caught this thread... My clutch comes up about 2" Hard to see exactly, but it's approx. 2"
I'm sure mine has more than one inch travel to initial bite. Will try and assess with greater accuracy and report back!
I thought the pedal hydraulically self adjusted for wear, and slipping would just be noticed when the car doesn't bite on acceleration. Mine with a slipping clutch when I bought it and a new clutch had a similar engagement point which is about 1/3 In.
Thanks guys.. looks to be about 1-2 inches after driving it this last weekend. Feels normal. I'm going to try it with a ruler this weekend and quantify it. Always super cautious after I bleed the clutch. No creep with clutch pressed and first gear on a flat surface.
