How many cm do you reckon there is between the LM seat and the actual floor? Is there a seat rail in between?

    Starting to come together now...:)

It is reduced to an essential minimum.
    I like it.

A few issues with getting the fuel pumps to talk to Motec but more news on that tomorrow. Meanwhile James is busy fitting more of the internal trim such as it is.

    Amazing thread!

Don't mean to hijack in anyway but thought folks on here are most likely to know but what exhaust setup is the car in the vid likely to have to make it pop and crackle so much? This isn't just a straight-through LM....

Don't think I answered this point.

I am close to 6ft 2 and with a 'lid' I am easily touching the roof. We therefore dropped the seat rails so as to provide a more comfortable driving position and so the answer is very little!

    Thanks :).

Balls. When I get an F40 I'm probably going to have to run it seatless . I suppose your quite tall in the torso then?

Not particularly, fairly normal proportions but always been a problem the moment you put on a helmet. When I owned a standard F40, it was fine, except on track so just keep to the roads.

I'm not sure if this question has been asked and answered already so I apologize if it has.

Seeing how many rare and exotic cars pass through MT's shop this might be difficult to answer but...

Have you gotten a sense of where on the list of "special" cars yours is? In other words, if the employees there were to make a list of the top 5 cars to come into their shop, would yours make the list and where would it be?

Or do they see so many rare cars like yours that it's just another day at the office for them?

    Thanks in advance!

Excusing F1 cars from the list, this has to be No. 1

From a customers perspective, I don't think they ever get blasé about the fabulous cars they get to work on and they feel it is both their privilege and an amazing opportunity, hence their workmanship.

From what Kevin tells me, I think the vote would be split between 50 / 50 between the 250 GTO and this LM, the trust involved and the risk exposure are massive and he tells me that’s part of the buzz ; they have had more input on this car and a greater required skill spread due to the technology, and the cars and techniques required to restore them are widely different and challenging ……….. However both projects are career defining and to quote Kevin 'we love it'.

A weekend treat as Kevin has been back mountaineering again and taken this cracker. Few details still not finished, bits of tape to come off but this shot will be repeated at the end, wherever/whenever that may be. Currently at T-1 after a few holds.

I don't think there is a much better view of an engine bay in the automotive world......?

I think what makes it so special is that you not only see the whole engine on display, but also those monster rear tires as well. Very cool.
