So, my wife wants to move. I wasn't born to rich parents nor am I independently wealthy either. We need to sell a car to be able to get the property that "we" want to get. She also keeps reminding me that I'm a responsible adult with children and the spyder is the least practical car we own....

Here it is: Car has 47k miles, rosso corsa with tan leather and blk top. I'm the second owner. First got too elderly to enjoy the car, we became friends, I got a smoking deal on this car not all that long ago. He drove it regularly until about 4 years ago, had a major service performed with valve guides and headers replaced at the same time. A local well known independent has been caring for the car for years and years. The car sat mostly unused (roughly 1000 miles in 4 years). I bought it earlier this year from him and used it as a daily driver for the first month, but I commute close to 100 miles a day so I felt it is prudent to commute in a beater instead. The 355 runs perfectly, shifts perfectly, it has been a very pleasant Ferrari to own.

Cosmetics are typical 355: sticky switches, dash and drivers seat leather worn/shrunken. Top is in really good shape, the back plastic window is in great condition. Everything works on the car except the top has been switched to manual only operation (fully reversible), it was diagnosed as a bad hydro unit. Not really a classified ad, I'm looking for interest in a very simple "project" 355.

I can toally relate and I have heard that many times in the last five years! Luckily, I'm partially deaf in one ear and can't always hear what she says to me... at least that's what I tell her. :)

The 01-03's don't have the carbon build up issues the 00 has. I was a BMW master tech for 10 years and saw/heard of plenty 00's but no 01-03s. I wouldn't pull the heads anyways on the 00's, its possible to clean them out without pulling them off. Anyways, I no longer have that M5, how I do miss it though.

My wife drives a Cayenne Turbo... the only minivan I ever looked at buying was a merc r63

I bet it goes before the weekend is up... If it's in mechanically good condition $40k is a steal!

Part of me hopes it doesn't go too quick so I can truthfully tell my wife I'm trying and still enjoy it ;), but the other half of me hopes for a quick end....

I'm being asked a lot for a price. This was a feeler at first, but seeing as I do have interested parties I'll attempt to answer this. As the title says sub $40k. I bought it right, I am not looking to make every last dollar possible, I just don't have time to deal with 1000's of questions. Nor do I have any desire to deal with all the lookie loo's either. I'll start high, big surprise, and the buyer will start low. I'll start at $39,900.

Make a reasonable offer in the mid to upper 30's and we'll see if we can make a deal out of it.

Car is completely stock other than the radio is an alpine deck. I have the books, a mostly empty tool kit, original purchase agreement (not sure it really matters), 2 keys, 1 red fob 1 black.

I am not the most tech savy, not sure how to send a lot of pics through PM's. If you want pics, please PM me with your email and I'll send as many as you desire in an email.

I was just out visiting in Phoenix, anything short of an ice cream truck is going to be a hard sell this time of year... just kidding, best of luck, sounds like someone will be getting a nice car.

A couple good questions asked. Car fax is picture perfect for those who care. Again, I am the 2nd owner and the car fax has ZERO issues on it.

To all that replied looking for more photos, please bare with me. I will try to get all the pictures known to modern man this weekend. My work schedule sucks, and a hour plus commute just adds to the fun.

I have pictures available to email. The dash and the drivers seat are pretty bad. Otherwise the car is in good condition.

At this rate, once I get my 355 back from the shop, looks like I'll be selling it for around $35k.

Soooo....why was this thread from LAST SUMMER bumped! Did this thing ever sell?

If you're telling me that clean, driver 355 Spiders are still sub-$40k I'm going to put a gun in my mouth. At that number I'll never sell. NEVER!!
