I'd like to start doing my own brake flushes -- which bleeder from the Motive line-up (or other recommendations?) would work with the F355 cap size?

    Thank you...

1100 for the motive. It's 45mm but measure yours to be sure.

Ok, ordered and received the 1100 and will try it shortly.

One question -- this bleeder will put the pressure into the brake fluid reservoir, which is great -- however, how does that pressure travel through the master cylinder and into the individual brake lines? Would I not need to constantly activate the brake pedal as well to make this whole thing work?

    TY.

I have tried all kinds of bleeders over the years.

For me, the best one is a quart mason jar with 15' of clear hose coiled in it. Poke a hole in the lid and pull the tube through.

Connect the hose to the brake bleed screw and push the pedal. Refill the reservoir as necessary. One person operation.

The gizmos are nice, but I have two power bleeders collecting dust.

    YMMV.

Griots vacuum bleeder which is nothing special in terms of uniqueness works like a charm.

Just vacuum the reservoir out, fill it up and draw the new fluid to each wheel and clutch checking and adding fluid to the reservoir when changing locations.

No second person and no fuss.

The channel the fluid resides in and flows through is normally open to the reservoir. When you apply the brakes, a plunger first closes it and then forces the fluid into the brakes. So the Motive just pressurizes the channel without the pedal.

Great -- that clarifies it. Thank you. I just ordered some Super Blue brake fluid and will be doing the change in the next 1-2 weeks.

One more question -- is there fundamentally wrong to drain the entire system and having the lines dry before re-filling? I think I may have a leak around one of the brake lines that go in a union inside the front trunk (close to where the brake pressure switch connects to).

I would assume that changing that line/union/etc. would be possible only with the system emptied out.

Drained is fine but "dry" is something all together different. Drain it, fix the leak and replace/flush with new fluid.
