A new company called Race Car Modeler is making a resin kit of the 917PA Can Am 1969 werks car in 1/24th scale. I was told the test shots were on display at the Milwaukee NNL. The pictures of it look pretty good.

If you like old Indy cars here is a maker of simple but nice 1/25th scale kit's. They have made some very interesting American Indy cars and also these two Maserati 8CTF's. Maserati won Indy in 1939 and 1940 with chassis #3032. You could also convert them to the European versions but they were not a great success. The Pescara 8CTF chassis #3031 was a great looking machine.

Model Factory Hiro are doing a Ferrari 250 kit in 1/12th scale. They have not said wich car yet. The wheels look like maybe 250 TR or SWB?? Or maybe they will machine another section and they are 250 GTO/LM rear wires?? The outer lip does look rather crude so this might not be the complete wheel. Also they look cast and not photoetched. Interesting if they can keep the castings very crisp before they plate them. We will see how they turn out.

So now Hiro have the 1/12th 917's and a 1/12th Ferrari 250 coming!!

I think this is a 16 inch wire wheel so maybe the 1958 TR ??

A little slow, but here is a transkit for the Fujimi 365 BB from Renaissance for the Ferrari 365BB NART Lemans 1975 in 1/24th that was withdrawn due to Chinetti being a cry baby over his Dino not qualifying.

Also Renaissance has done decals for all the Lemans 1966 Ford GT MKII factory cars in 1/24th scale now along with a nice photoetch sheet. Now we wont have to use the cardboard decals included in the Fujimi kit anymore.

Really like that, any idea what sort of price these transkits go for?

It looks like just wheels and decals. You have to buy a Fujimi 365BB plastic kit also.

    Boutique Renaissance-models - Ferrari 365GT4/BB NART Le Mans 1975

Shunko will also release all the Lemans 1966 GT40 MKII cars in 1/24th scale for the Fujimi also. This is typical for an industry that loves to copy each other. Spotmodel should have the SHUNKO decals soon. He can also get the Renaissance decals along with a good selection of Zero paints. Zero paints are like automotive base coat paints and must be clear coated with 2K as they comes out in a matt finish.

More photos of the Hiro 917 1/12th scale full detail kit due in June. This is the 917LH 1970 Lemans car(Hippie and white cars). I hope they also to the 1971 917LH cars(Martini and Gulf) along with a 917K. Why not a 917/10 and 917/30 also??

These 1/12th scale Hiro kits should make the old ABC and CMM 917 kits go up for sale cheap on ebay soon!!!

    Re: MFH 917

I think the shape of the body over the rear wheel arches needs adjusting - looks a bit too pronounced to me.

for all those that were thinking MFH's decision to release 1:12 scale 126C2 was a bad one: the first production run is almost sold out! and this 5 days after going on sale :)

Models like this will convince MFH to continue to produce in this scale, especially older Ferraris.....

    Good point.

I have to say I'm stunned that it sold any. Don't quite understand why.

Well great for Hiro. I won't buy it as I already have a good Revell kit that with skill can be made into a nice model. $800.00 for the Hiro kit is a little much.

I think only the first batch is sold out. The kit is not sold out. That is an old trick Studio 27 and Hiro have used. They would print several hundred decals and keep making batches of kits announcing the batches were sold out.

If you buy from Mac, it will be around 600.00 dollars (pre-order price)

    I bought two ;)
