This is what needs to happen. Shut down F1. Let the new electric series take over, no advertising on the cars, but have them survive on donations from the public, just like public radio. This way, no ones offended, and the environment is not hurt. What a sad state of affairs if they really do ban alcohol as well.

I wouldn't miss it one bit, being teetotaller for years.
But I suppose many people would loose their best friend and become insufferable because of it.

More alcohol was sold and consumed during the prohibition than after the ban was lifted. No worries.

Forbidden fruit is always sweeter but I wonder how accurately they could estimate illicit sales and consumption.

Ever been to St. Pierre (et Miquelon)? They built entire houses out of the abandoned Whisky crates Al Capone smuggled into the US.

Soo, there will be no alcohol sales(or in the hospitality suites) at the races either? This I have to see.

I agree that this is the primary reason when it comes to products that would be considered part of someone's life - I do not go out and buy brake fluid just because Peak sponsors Danica Patrick, but because I do not like Danica Patrick, when I'm in a store, even if its on sale, I buy the OTHER brake fluid that doesn't sponsor her.

However, for products you've never heard of, they can influence you to start. I wouldn't know what Red Bull was without this forum+RBR participation in F1.

And hardly that impacts the sales. Here, they have made more graphic images, made it covering 70% of the boxes. Less tar and nicotine will be in ciggies starting september this year.

    Still, no difference.

Um................ governments don't pay for healthcare, they simply control it (or want to control it along with everything else).

    Governments don't have any money.

Taxpayers pay for healthcare. Nevertheless, I get your point.

We shouldn't ban the advertising because some can't control their drinking, or even choose to drink for that matter. It's like, what, people are going to magically forget alcohol and cigarettes exist because they're not advertised? Illegal drugs are not advertised, don't see any lack of demand for them.
